Chapter Twenty Two

Caller: "Y/N? Y/N? Are you there?"

Y/N: "Mom? How do you know where I am?"

Mom: "That doesn't matter right now, come home. I know that you got away from your kidnapper but you're still around that boy from the same family that wants to harm you. You can't think that they won't come after you again!"

Y/N: "Mom, I promise you I'm safe. I don't need to come home, I've met so many people and I'm ready to be out in the real world."

Mom: "No. I promise you you aren't ready for the real world. You don't even know what the real world is. You can't live your life like every other person Y/N you're different, you need to get home."

Y/N: "You don't think I know that? You want me to take every step of my life perfectly so I don't mess up your life as well as dad's. Why can't you find someone else to take over my life. I would rather you replace me than go back to that hell hole of a life." The other side of the phone line goes quiet for a minute.

Mom: "Look. I know what you're feeling but you have to realize we need you. I can buy you some time, but I need to talk to your father and he'll contact you about the situation. I only want what's best for you but our company and job gets in the way of that."

Y/N: "No kidding."

Mom: "Love you."

Y/N: "Bye."

I hang up the phone instantly, a harsh pungent feeling of hatred flows through my body. 'She has never wanted what was best for me, it's always been what's best for her. I will never go back there no matter how much I have to hold back.' I strut towards the elevator and up to my floor. Halfway up the elevator stops and opens, Illumi walks in and stands behind me putting his hands on top of my shoulders.

Illumi: "Don't worry I only want to talk to Kil, I won't hurt you, not unless I need to of course."

I start to sweat, too nervous to let a word out or make a wrong move. I stay silent and step out of the elevator letting Illumi guide me like a puppet on strings. He pushes me towards Killua's room like he already knew where it was. I start to get nervous, thinking he's been following us around this whole time. The door opens exactly when we step in front of it, there Killua stands.

Killua: "I told you not to touch her! Let her go."

Illumi: "I told you I'm not letting her go until we talk, you're lucky I'm here to hear what you have to say."

Killua: "Okay okay. Just let her go in the meantime, I'll walk her to Gon's room."

Illumi: "Make it quick, if it takes too long then I guess I'll have no choice but to kill her." Killua jolts to grab me and we slowly walk down the hallway towards Gon's room, he then turns to me.

Killua: "Okay, keep going down this hallway to the stairwell. I'll be right behind you, I'm going to get Gon and the others, and I'm making sure Illumi never touches you again."

Y/N: "Please be fast."

Killua: "You know I am." He reaches out and holds me like it's the last time, my eyes abruptly start to water. He whispers into my ear "I love you."

Before I can show any reaction he disappears around the corner, I'm frozen. 'This can't be it, he'll make it out he has to. Illumi wouldn't kill him, he- he can't.' My head fogs up until seeing Gon run around the corner towards me and the stairwell. He picks me up and carries me out of the hotel to Wing's dojo. We arrive and Gon gently places me down.

Y/N: "He just- He-" I can't get a sentence out.

Gon: "Hey, hey, look he'll be alright. He always comes around."

Y/N: "No, no he can't do this to himself. Why did he have to sacrifice himself for my life. It's not worth it!" My worried voice turns more into a stern cry.

Gon pulls me into his chest letting me bawl on his shoulder. Minutes pass and my sob corrects into a silent cry, Gon whispers in my ear.

Gon: "No matter what happens, and no matter who gets out of this you won't be alone, ever, do you hear me. I will always be here. But I have faith that Killua will be okay, time and time again he has succeeded to protect the ones he has cared most for, he won't let just any person take him over. Look at me Y/N, it'll all be okay, as long as you keep your head up everything will end out good." I lay in his golden warm welcoming arms not moving and not making any sound, I have another person that I have let into my life for good.
