Y/n's POV

We followed Willy Wonka down the hallway, and he stopped in front of a glass door. He pressed the button next to it and the door opened. "I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. The elevator's by far the most efficient way to get around the factory." He said to himself.

"Maybe because you wanted to kill those kids, you psychopath." I thought, turning away from him and rolling my eyes.

"There can't be this many floors," Mike said. I turned around and looked at the buttons that covered the entire wall.

Willy Wonka looked down at Mike and said, "How do you know, Mr. Smarty-Pants? This isn't an ordinary up-and-down elevator, by the way. This elevator can go sideways, longways, slantways, and any other ways you can think of. You just press any button," he said, pressing one, "and, whoosh! You're off!" The elevator made a 'ding!' and the elevator suddenly started moving to the side, making all of us stumble.

I held onto Charlie to prevent him from falling. "Mister, you should've given us a warning."

The elevator stopped and started going downward instead, before stopping again and going to the side.

I stumbled a little, but someone helped me to stand upright again. I turned to look at Willy Wonka. He had his hand around my waist. He placed his finger on his mouth and smiled at me, as if telling me to be quiet. I looked away in annoyance.

The glass elevator went through a room into another. "Oh, look. Look!" Wonka shouted, pointing out the window. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Fudge Mountain."

It was snowing all around us, with a mountain in the middle of this room. "Is this guy a wizard? How did he get a mountain in here?" I thought, leaning against the glass elevator and looking down at the mountain. There were many Oompa-Loompas in red uniforms, mining at the fudge mountain. Two looked up at us and waved.

The elevator carried us into another room. There were several large tubes filled with pink... wool? Cotton candy? I looked at the Oompa-Loompas and they were cutting wool off of pink sheep. "Are they actually pink?" I thought curiously. You don't get to see pink sheep every day.

"Oh!" Wonka exclaimed, but his grin faded away. "I'd rather not talk about this one." I looked at him puzzling. "Sir what are you trying to hide?"

We then went into another room which has a really high ceiling and light green walls. There were beds as well. It looks like a hospital.

"And this is the Puppet Hospital and Burn Center." Wonka said, and I saw an Oompa-Loompa pushing a bed with a puppet on it. Well, the ones in bed are all the puppets that were burned today.

Mommy! Daddy! Where are you taking them?!

I froze. "Goddammit..." I closed my eyes shut. "Stop thinking about it. It's been more than a decade. You should be fine!"

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and turned to look at Willy Wonka. He looked concerned. "That's a new expression..." I thought.

Willy Wonka's POV

The girl who was curiously looking around the room froze. I leaned slightly forward to get a look at her face. She had her eyes shut. "Is she alright?" I placed a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes opened slowly and turned to look at me. She looked fragile. Weak. Helpless. She was different from the girl this morning. She always kept some distance between her and other people she didn't know. The wall that she built between her and the others is gone.

"Ms. L/n," I whispered, "are you alright?"

She looked at me for a moment before giving me a small smile. She nodding her head and turned to look forward, avoiding everything that was happening in the room.

I turned my attention back to touring the rooms.

"...It's relatively new," Wonka whispered.

The elevator continued to move forward but stopped abruptly, before traveling downward. All the others almost face-planted into the glass, except Wonka and I. "Well, I suppose having Wonka steadying you means that you don't face plant into the glass..." I placed a hand on Charlie's shoulder to help him not face plant into the glass later.

All around us were desks with Oompa-Loompas, and Wonka shouted, "Ah, the administration offices." The elevator came to a stop in front of an Oompa-Loompa who was using a typewriter. They were wearing a pastel pink dress and a thin coat, they also wore pearl accessories, and their hair was pulled up into a bun.

"Hello, Doris." Wonka smiled, waving at the Oompa-Loompa in front of us. They waved back.

The elevator started moving backward, making Charlie go forward, but I was able to stop him from face planting into the glass this time.

"Thank you, Y/n," Charlie whispered. I smiled and patted his head.

We entered a room filled with fireworks. "Wow. A safety hazard. How nice." I thought.

The Oompa-Loompas were shooting something out of cannons, creating fireworks. The explosions were happening all around us. It's quite frightening, to be honest.

I saw an Oompa-Loompa loading up the guns with huge gumballs. "Are those the cannonballs...?"

As the elevator continues to head downward, Mike spoke. "Why is everything here... completely pointless?"

"Candy doesn't have to have a point. That's why it's candy." Charlie replied.

I turned around to look at Willy Wonka. I thought he was going to be annoyed by Mike's question, but he had a... certain look on his face. The fireworks created different shadows on his face. I couldn't read his face.

"It's stupid! Candy is a waste of time." Mike said in an annoyed voice. Willy Wonka's expression changed as if he was triggered by Mike's words.

I placed my hand on his forearm. It took him a while before he looked down at me and smiled. "Sorry, Ms. L/n. I was thinking about something." I gave him a slight smile. "I'm fine now, thank you." He placed his hand on my hand, which stayed on his forearm.

"Just returning the favor," I whispered, pulling my hand slowly out of his grasp to not make it seem like I disliked him. I turned my head to look out the glass elevator at the fireworks.

Mike turned around and looked up at Willy Wonka. "I wanna pick a room," Mike demanded.

I turned my head back around. Willy Wonka was looking back at Mike with a malicious grin. "Go ahead." The way he said that sent a shiver down my spine.

"Oh no... what's gonna happen now?"
