Continuation of the last chapter...
Y/n's POV
After a bumpy elevator ride, Willy and I arrived at a new location within the factory — his living quarters. I was surprised by how different it was compared to other parts of the factory.
The floor of the hallway was made up of beautiful marble tiles. It had perfectly painted white walls with gorgeous paintings and vases decorating the hallway. The high ceiling had pearly, white archways and beautiful gold chandeliers.
My mouth fell open at the scene before me. I heard Willy chuckling and felt his gloved fingers under my chin, gently pushing up and closing my mouth. I looked away in embarrassment.
"If you're already surprised by the hallway, you would probably faint when we reach the library, starshine." He joked, grasping my hand gently. I looked back at him, and he smiled softly back at me before leading me down the hallway.
We walked quietly down the hallway, with me walking slightly behind him. Our footsteps echoed throughout the quiet and spotless hallway. I looked around curiously, before turning back to face the front, our intertwined hands and Willy's broad back coming into view. "When did we get so close that I don't feel weird when we hold our hands like this...?" I thought, but shook that thought away.
"Do the Oompa-Loompas live here as well?" I asked. It was half out of curiosity and half because it was a bit too quiet and awkward.
"Oh! They do. They just live down the other hallway. It's just... not as fancy. Yeah." He answered, looking over his shoulder at me.
"At least their living environment is not that bad compared to their pay." I thought.
We walked past an arched wooden double door that seemed to lead to a courtyard. I slowed down to get a better look, and Willy must've noticed since he stopped. I walked towards the doors and peeped through the glass panels. I heard Willy move next to me and he turned the doorknob, opening one of the doors.
"Ladies first." He said, stepping out of the way for me. I brushed my hair behind my ear and looked up at him, and he just smiled back at me, tilting his head as his way of urging me to go.
I stepped out into the courtyard and looked up at the night sky before walking towards the railings. I lean my arms against the railings and looked out. The courtyard opening is facing the back of the factory, so no one would see Willy if he ever decides to step out. I turned back around and saw Willy stepping out as well.
The courtyard had a garden, which was growing vegetables. I walked towards it and bent down next to the soil, tilting my head to the side in confusion.
"Why do you grow vegetables here?" I asked, looking up at Willy, who was standing next to me.
"Starshine, do you really think that I only ate candies when I shut my factory down? I would've been terribly out of shape." He chuckled, placing both of his hands on his cane.
"That makes sense, I suppose," I replied, standing back up.
He reached his hand out towards me and grasped my hand gently, leading me back indoors. "Come on starshine, let's go to the library. Isn't that what we're here for, hmm?" He hummed, closing the door.
I nodded my head lightly, trying my best to not show how excited I am. His smile widened and he started walking again, his pace faster than before.
After a bit of walking, we reached another hallway. There were two huge arched double doors on either side of the walls, but neither of them has glass panels on them. Willy led me to the doors on the right, and I looked back at the opposite door with curiosity.
