Y/n's POV
Thankfully, the incident happened on Friday, so I had two days to relax and not worry about anything. However, it is now Monday, and I have to get ready and head to college. Paula was extremely giddy this morning.
"Paula, I know you have a lovely date with your boyfriend today, but this is slightly overboard, don't you think?" I told her. I was sitting on her bed with my arms crossed, one leg crossed over the other, and my eyes following her as she runs around her bedroom, trying to find the perfect outfit for her date. "I'm getting bored."
Paula turned to me with puffed-up cheeks. "You wouldn't understand! You're not even interested in dating, of course you would think it's boring!" She exclaimed, walking away again to stand in front of the mirror, comparing her outfits.
I rolled my eyes. "What's so important about today anyway?"
Paula turned to me with widened eyes. She dropped her outfits to the floor and came up to me, grabbing my shoulders, shaking me violently. "Don't tell me you forgot what today is!"
I grabbed ahold of her wrists to stop her from shaking me. I tilted my head to the side with confusion. "...is today important? What holiday is it today?"
She gasped and backed away from me. "Are you serious?! Are you not joking?"
"I am very serious! What holiday is it?!" I shouted back at Paula. She sighed and shook her head.
"Think Y/n! It's the 14th of February!"
I pondered, before letting out an 'ooooohhhh....'. But my face darkened and I stood up. "Valentine's Day."
"Exactly—!" "A dreadful holiday," I said with annoyance, opening Paula's bedroom door to leave.
"Huh? What do you mean...?" Paula looked at me with confusion. I leaned back and turned my head to the side, looking at her.
"I hate Valentine's Day, that's all," I shrugged, turning around and leaning against the doorframe, "at least I can stay near Evan to avoid any unwanted attention."
"Ohhhh..." Paula nodded her head with a smirk, "you're so popular that you can't handle the love letters and gifts!"
"It's a hassle," I scowled at my experience last year, "the only good thing is that I can bring the gifts back to my family. But now, they live in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, so there's no need for the gifts."
I left Paula's room and head to mine. "Come to think of it, Willy Wonka said that he always gets busy 'this time of the year', I guess he meant Valentine's Day." I thought, laying down on the bed. I turned around to look out the window. The now-empty ground where the Bucket's house used to be was right outside my window. "I had so many memories there..." I smiled, sitting back up. "Let's go make something for breakfast, Evan will be coming in a bit." I thought, walking out of my bedroom and heading towards the kitchen.
After I made a simple breakfast for myself, I heard the doorbell ringing. I smiled and jogged up to the door. I opened it and there Evan was. He wore a light gray wool long coat, a white turtleneck sweater, a pair of dark blue denim jeans, and a pair of black low boots. I smirked up at him. "Always so stylish. You ready to woo some girls today?"
He chuckled as he stepped in, taking off the wool jacket. "Don't joke with me. Valentine's Day is dreadful for the both of us." He sighed, sitting down on the sofa. His nose twitched slightly and he smiled. "Did you make breakfast? I smell some goodies in the kitchen."
I giggled. "You're like a dog. Yes, I did, just some scrambled eggs and sausages. Would you like a cup of black tea as well?"
He nodded his head with a bright smile. "That would be great. Thank you." In the end, Evan came into the kitchen to help me bring the plates and cups into the living room. I shouted down the short hallway in our apartment. "Paula! Breakfast's ready!"
