Meeting Misaki

HANAKO'S POV:

Another phone rang,it was Misaki again or Yako. "Another one..."Kou wearily states as I go over to it to and answer it. "Yello?" I ask holding the phone to my ear to hear her asking for her left arm with her statement of why she needs it. "Do hurry class will-" I spoke up"No.2! Long time no chat. You do remember me,don't you?" I smirk as she stays silent for a moment before telling us to hurry. I place the phone down and look to Kou and Yashiro who silently stared at me. "What? I just thought I'd say hello."

"You know her?" Yashiro asks"well I mean,we're both school wonders." I say as a click sound was heard again,most likely from the hourglass. "We're looking for arms again? What a pain." Kou says running a hand through his hair"hey Hanako,isn't there another way to deal with her? You know something like a weakness." I nod"there is a way. Her weakness is her divine yorishiro. Those are what give us seven mysteries our powers. Think of it like a battery,if you destroy it,the school mystery will be a lot weaker." Kou smiles"so we just need to find this divine uh...norishiro!"

"Yorishiro." Yashiro corrects.

"So where is it?" Kou asks"in the inner most reaches of this boundary." I say"'innermost reaches?'" The two asks me in unison"it's just what it sounds like. The farthest place inside this boundary. I suspect we'll find it far beyond that door." I gesture"at the top of the staircase." We all look up to the long stair case. "So the top..."Kou trails off"basically..."

It was going to be a long trip. So, "who's excited to climb some stairs?!" I yell as I pump my fist into the air,Yashiro and Kou gave a weak pump. We searched around for each of the items she wanted,legs,a torso,eyes,ears and a head. Yashiro placed the last item in the shrine as we all cheered and gave high fives since we were done. The door opened with a slight breeze once more. "Is this the innermost reaches?" Kou asks stepping into the water logged area"I think so." I say placing my hands into my pockets. The room was dark and slightly cold,Yashiro was uneasy while Kou and I were cautious.

"Hey,look over there!" Kou exclaims pointing to a shadow figure. "S-Someone is there!" Yashiro stutters in fear as they moved themselves forward,the closer it got the easier it got to see the outline of themselves. Once they came into light it turned out it was all the items we brought to the shrine. "Are those all the parts we collected?" Kou asks dumbfounded. "Yikes." I cringe. It's...it's something. I guess the only word would be it's an amalgamation. And not in the good way. "You just had to give it those weird legs,didn't you kid?" I usher to Kou"wha-?! You're the one who said it didn't matter as long as we kept going!" He argues.

"The bust and leg size..."Yashiro dreamily states. "Really? You'd be ok with a bust like this?" I ask looking from the amalgamations chest to her as footsteps were heard. "You finally made it." A feminine voice echoed through the room. Once she stepped into the light it was revealed to be Misaki,or rather Yako-school mystery No.2. Yashiro let out a soft gasp beside me,she was probably in wonder. She looked over to the amalgamation,she placed her hands on its shoulders. She stared in silence as she turned to us with a sharp glare.

"Um...a-about the doll..." Kou trails off.

"B-Believe it or not,w-we really tried our best..."Yashiro adds.

Her glare then turned into a closed eye smile"what a wonderful body! I was at such a loss you see!" She stands up and grabs Yashiro's hands"I simply have no idea what human bodies are made of! I always knew it would be a good idea to leave it to humans." She drops her hands and looks back to the amalgamation"this is nothing like the other bodies I've made. I'm sure it'll work this time." She walks over to it"isn't that right 'Misaki'? Come on! Let me see you walk!" She blows air at it which makes it crack and shutter and then it becomes alive. My eyes widened at what she was doing,the others were right behind me. It took one step before crashing down into the water.

"Oh dear...another failure." She sighs placing her hands on its cheeks. "What a shame..."

"H-Have you seen any students h-here?" Starts Yashiro"where might th-they be?"

"'Students'?" She hums before going into silence for a moment. "Oh,you mean the kids who failed. In that case-"the room suddenly lit up to reveal all those who she had taken. "They're all around you,didn't you see them?" Yashiro let out a soft gasp,she almost sounded like she was going to cry. Next thing I knew,she was running over to a girl with purple hair screaming 'Aoi'. "Yashiro!" I call out to her as Yako sighs.

"I tried and I tried,but nothing ever worked. I've had enough. As for you three-"she pulls out her large pair of scissors"I will tear you apart just as the rumors say!" Kou quickly ran to Yashiro and blocked her from the scissors. "Senpai,are you ok?!" A poof sound was heard as Kou began to panic,it seemed that the arm that he blocked with was now turned into a dolls arm. I pulled out my knife and floated over to them and threw the large pair of scissors back"it seems that if you get cut with those you'll be turned into a doll." Kou tugged at his arm"how am I supposed to fight now?! Wait,I know! Hanako,do that thing you did the other day! Ya know,transform and beat her up!"

I shake my head"can't. This is No.2's domain. Unless I have her permission,I can't use hakujoudai's abilities. It would be different if we destroyed her yorishiro,but it doesn't seem to be here." I moved out of way as I walked over to Yashiro,telling Kou to keep her distracted. The water sloshed around under neath me as I walked over to the the daikon girl. "Yashiro,stand up." I demand as she softly cries"are you giving up? Even though she's still alive?" She lifts her head slightly"this place is in between life and death. Nothing can come to life here but also nothing can die here." I smile and place my hand out to her"here,where there is no birth or death...those who have the most power are those who don't know when to give up." She wipes her eyes and then takes my hand"I'm in! I'll go anything!"

I give a smirk"'anything'?" I repeat as I pull out some rope and began to tie her up. "Wait...what?!" I shove her over to a waterfall"the yorishiro isn't here. This isn't the innermost reaches. So,I had a thought. If it's not at the very top,maybe it's at the very bottom." Yashiro nervously swallowed"y-you don't mean..."

I smiled and pushed her down the waterfalls current. "We're all counting on you!" I yell as her loud screams become distant. I turn on my heel and pull out knife once more. I hope there's a bottom to this place.
