Mirror Mirror On The Wall

HANAKO'S POV:

"Please let us in!" Kou begs"we promise we'll be good!" I nod"we won't cause you any trouble. All we want is Yashiro back! I'll let you have Kou in exchange." I plead"hey! I don't want them having me!" Y/N then speaks up behind us"you two have been begging for Yashiro,or rather you've been begging Number three to let you two in for two hours. They're not going to let you in." She remarks"not with that attitude they won't." Kou comments still begging the mirror"I know you want to get back Yashiro,but this is getting you no where." I look to Kou"maybe they can't hear us?" Kou looks to me"maybe,do you want me to scream it?" I nod"HEY! NUMBER THREE! LET US IN!" I hear Y/N sigh behind us"LET ME IN GUYS!" I shout with Kou"you two need help. Imagine if someone walked in and saw Kou screaming at the mirror. He'd definitely be labeled crazy." Kou turns his head towards Y/N"they already think I am crazy. But jokes on them,I'm not!" He turns back towards the mirror"LET US IN!"

"Why don't you two visit Tsuchigomori?" I look to her"that's a great idea Y/N! Maybe he'll have an idea!" I exclaim standing up"come on kid,let's go visit Tsuchigomori-sensei!" Kou nods and stands up as a few of his bones pop. "Let's go see spider face!" We left the bathroom and headed towards Tsuchigomori-sensei's classroom.

When we arrived Tsuchigomori-sensei was grading papers while Yako was in her fox form asleep on a book shelf. "Tsuchigomori-sensei!" I yell making the male look up from grading his papers"what?" He asks"Yashiro was taken by school mystery number three!" He sighs"and why are you telling me?" He seemed like he could careless"because it's been two hours since they took her! And we can't get into Number three's boundary! The kid and I tried begging on our hands and knees but it didn't work."

"Please help us spider face!" Kou demands"sensei." I whisper to him"please help us spider face sensei!"

"You little-"

"I cant let Yashiro get hurt,she's my assistant after all." I tell him"tell me Tsuchigomori-sensei,won't you help us?" He sighed in agreement"I guess I do have an idea." He turned in his chair slightly and looked at Yako,he grabbed her and then placed her in my hands. "Hm?" I hum looking back up at the teacher"hear me out. The seven mysteries' boundaries each serve as a overseer of a certain aspect at school. My bookstacks manage records and the clock keepers manage time and number two manages space." He explains"if you go through her boundary,you can pretty much go anywhere."

"Wha-"

"So that means we can get into number three's boundary?" He nods at my question"pretty much." "But I thought senpai busted up number two's boundary." Kou speaks up"oh about that,all she did was take away her right to manage it. The boundary it's self still exists. But with it's overseer gone...it's probably a mess." He looks to Yako"isn't that right echinococcus?"

"Shut up emo spider!" She snaps"and why do I have to help you anyways?" I pulled out my knife unbeknownst to her"I couldn't careless what happens to your-"

"Kitsune udon." I tell her while making a chopping motion with my knife"it's not my pro-" "udon."

She groans"fine." I smile and place my knife away"come on,follow me." She hops out of my hands and we follow her towards her stair case. "Alright,here we go." The last time we were here was when Yako was taking students,that seemed so long ago. "One. Two. Three. Four!" She counted while jumping up each step. When she landed on the forth one we were in her boundary with a flight of steps before us. I looked around in awe"it's so..."

"It's so pretty." Kou says over me"shut up!" We looked to Yako back in her human form"I'll show you to number three's boundary,so don't get lost." We followed her up the stairs"hey fox." Kou speaks up"what do you want brat?" She growls"well you know how before when your rumor changed and you went crazy? And you attacked me and the other students?" She glanced back at Kou with a glare"do you like to bring up unpleasant memories? What's your point?"

"Oh well it's just...I was wondering what that felt like." Kou trails off"and why would you want to know that?! I knew Misaki was the only human worth anything! The rest of you are just insects." I then but in"well you see,the kid had a ghost friend who disappeared when his rumor changed. And well,he can't just forget about him. He's kinda like you,isn't he number two?" I ask with a smirk"how so?" She huffs continuing up the stairs. "Well..."she finally says after about a minute of silence"it doesn't feel good at least when I look back on it. But it was definitely me. Just because I went crazy doesn't mean it wasn't me. There is a side of me I keep bottled up,it was just forced out of me. That's all. And so-"she stops and turns around"if you tried saying anything to that friend of yours,even if he didn't understand it,it still reached him probably." Kou stared at the blonde woman with wide eyes"I mean it doesn't matter how he looked,that boy was still that boy."

Kou clenched the journal in his hands,they shook a little. I lightly placed my hand on my sealed cheek,those final words hit home for me.

We continued to follow Yako in silence for the rest of the trip. We finally arrived at a mirror"and so,our chat is over. We've arrived,just through there is number three's boundary." She says gesturing the the swirled mirror. "Is that a mirror? Seems kinda ominous..."Kou trails off"I'm not going any farther by the way. You'll have to figure out how to get back on your own."

"Ok,thanks fox! OW!"

"STOP CALLING ME FOX! You are to call me Yako!"

"O-Ok...Y-Yako..."

"Very good."

I pulled out my knife"come on kid,let's get going." He nods"right." I looked to Yako"by the way,if Y/N shows up wanting to go to number three's boundary." Her green eyes were on me"don't let her in." She nods"I suppose I can do that".

"Well-"I turn to the mirror"you ready kid?"

"Yep! Let's go bust up that mirror face!"

And with that,we crossed over into number three's boundary.
