okay, so bakugo was serious when he said he'd meet todoroki at the training field. he also had two lunches with him, one for todoroki and one for himself. todoroki found himself, yet again, shocked and confused by bakugo's actions.
what the fuck was up with bakugo? why was he bothering with todoroki? despite todoroki's best, albeit awkward, attempts to get along with bakugo, bakugo had always unequivocally told todoroki to piss off. did bakugo actually want to be friends with todoroki now? but, if he did, why the sudden change? what changed bakugo's mind?
todoroki silently picked at his lunch as bakugo offered a running commentary in the class that was training in a far away portion of the training field. it was a... very colorful and enthusiastic commentary.
"NO NO NO!" bakugo yelled, his mouth full with half-chewed food. "that is NOT how you fucking COUNTER-ATTACK!! why would you-?! ugh!!"
todoroki laughed slightly at bakugo's antics. bakugo haf a footed wild and exaggerated arm movements. he had been flailing his arms around, nearly hitting todoroki a couple times as he continued to ramble and criticize the far away class training.
todoroki watched bakugo, feeling almost breathless. the sun was right behind bakugo in the sky, illuminating him in an angelic halo. the wind was softly blowing bakugo's spiky hair away from his face. his eyes were sharp and practically glowing. his entire face was lit up with passion and interest. he was like a painting come to life. todoroki could feel his heart pick up its pace slightly.
todoroki pulled his eyes away from bakugo, using his utensils to shuffle the food on his plate around to make it look like he had eaten a little bit.
"you should actually eat your food." bakugo said, giving todoroki a watchful and otherwise unreadable look.
"i'm just nit particularly hungry today." todoroki blatantly lied. of course, right when those words left todoroki's mouth, his stomach loudly grumbled with hungry.
"no judgement here. we all need ta fuckin' eat." bakugo grunted. he then stuck his hand in a bag of chips, shoveled a handful of chips into his mouth, and purposefully obnoxiously crunched on the chips. "eat!" bakugo yelled with his mouth full, leaning towards todoroki. crumbs spewed out of his mouth.
"ew!" todoroki cringed, laughing in spite of himself. he handed bakugo a napkin, laughing through his words. "i'll eat, just wipe your mouth you fucking nasty."
todoroki's laughter died out as he turned his attention to his food. he hesitantly began taking small bites, feeling bakugo's presence a bit too harshly now. everything in him was screaming for todoroki to stop eating and go throw up. he felt nauseous, the food making him feel bloated. fuck, there was already too much flab on his arms, his thighs were too big, hus stomach was too big and chubby, his cheeks were too soft with fat--
"hey."
a voice pulled todoroki out of his quickly spiraling thoughts. god fucking dammit. todoroki was losing his shit in front of bakugo. again!
"you should talk to someone." bakugo said. "about how you get all freaked, or whatever, when eating."
"i--i..." todoroki rasped out, trying to calm his breathing to a normal pace. "i'm fine."
"y'know, i meet with ikeda twice a week." bakugo said. todoroki nodded in response. "don't ever repeat this or i'll fuckin' kill ya, but it does help, talkin' to here. listening ta' what she has to say."
"i've noticed." todoroki said. "you're, uh, you are a lot nicer than you used to be."
"yeah, whatever. doesn't mean i won't kick your ass and take the spot as the next #1 hero."
"don't think it'll be an easy fight for you. i don't plan on getting nicer myself."
"wouldn't fucking dream if it."
