okay, so, yes todoroki was feeling impatient and excited to meet up with bakugo, but now he just felt... kind of sick, to be honest. he really regretted eating at lunch. he regretted not finding the chance to throw up that food.
nervousness was working its way through todoroki's guts, twisting and turning uncomfortably. todoroki forced himself to drag air in and out of his lungs, trying to calm himself down.
this was all fine. it was going to be a fine and good time. bakugo had gone out if his way to ask todoroki to hang out, so he clearly didn't hate todoroki. at least, he didn't completely and totally hate todoroki. or, did he? did bakugo hate todoroki? did he just want to hang out because he felt some weird pity for todoroki? todoroki didn't want any pity! or, maybe this was all some sort of dare or joke or something? maybe bakugo just wanted to see how far todoroki would go believing that bakugo gave any sort of a shit about him.
bakugo was now late in meeting todoroki outside the dorms. oh god, bakugo was probably in his dorm right now laughing with his friends about how todoroki was waiting for him.
todoroki clenched his hands into fists, and stared holes into the ground. how could he have been so dumb as to think someone as cool and strong and handsome as bakugo would want to associate himself with todoroki?
"hey!" a loud, booming voice broke todoroki out of his self-depricative thoughts. bakugo was lightly jogging over to todoroki.
"the fuckin' idiots wouldn't just let me leave in peace, so blame them for me being late." bakugo said, stopping in front of todoroki and rolling his eyes in clear annoyance.
"it's alright." todoroki said, relaxing his hands. "so, what would you like to do?"
"there's a movie i wanna go see, so we're doing that." bakugo said, suddenly turning around to March out of the ua grounds and into town. todoroki scrambled after him. "no complaining. we're fucking doing that, or you can just turn around and leave me the hell alone."
"i'm fine with seeing a movie." todoroki responded, celebrating in his head. a movie would be perfect! he and bakugo wouldn't have to try and find things to talk about, and they'd be able to discuss the movie on the walk back to ua. this was the perfect activity for the two of them, in todoroki's opinion at least.
"good." bakugo snarled at todoroki's response.
as the two boys walked to the cinema, todoroki took the time to examine what bakugo was wearing. he had baggy and practical-looking camo pants on with a black t-shirt with a skull on the front, the shirt half tucked into his camo pants. his hair was in its usual spiked up style.
todoroki felt overdressed in comparison in his button down shirt and expensive jeans. todoroki had even gone so far as to style his hair, with his bangs pushed out of his face and held there with gel. todoroki wondered if he should untuck his shirt to try and look more casual to better match bakugo's look.
"uhh..." bakugo said, his voice low and grumbly. "you're dressed... fancy. you think we should go to the nicer theater downtown? the one with the plush seats? you're dressed kinda fancy, so that one might be better, or whatever..."
"we can go to whichever cinema you'd like, bakugo." todoroki said, his face warm with embarrassment. "i, ah, i didn't mean to dress to formally, i just..." todoroki trailer off, not wanting to admit that he wanted to look nice for bakugo. "i'm sorry. i didn't mean to put you in an odd position. we can go anywhere."
bakugo gave todoroki an unreadable look, making todoroki slightly panic and continue rambling. "but, if you'd like to go to the cinema downtown, i'll gladly pay. so, you don't have to worry about the costs. i-i mean, i'll pay at either cinema, of course. as a, uh, a thank you for inviting me out. it isn't a big deal, since i stole my dad's credit card. no-not trying to brag, or anything like that, i just mean that--"
"holy shit, you've been hanging around fuckin' deku too much." bakugo interrupted. "you're too fucking nervous."
"oh, uh, i suppose so..." todoroki said.
"you oughta hang out with me and my damn extras more often. you'll learn to chill the hell out after hanging out with their dumb asses. lord knows they don't care about their behavior enough to ever get nervous."
"if, um, if your friends and you wouldn't mind it, i would, um, i would enjoy that."
"they won't give a shit, don't worry 'bout it."
"oh, okay then."
"and, you don't hafta thank me for inviting you out. although, i won't stop you from paying."
"okay then."
bakugo stopped in his tracks abruptly, and turned to face todoroki with a bewildered expression.
"what?" todoroki questioned, stopping as well.
"did you say you stole your dad's fucking credit card?!"
