bakugo wouldn't say he's overdramatic. (which was a bit of a lie, but whatever helps him.) or one to worry. or anything like the extras that like to call themselves his friends.

despite all of that, bakugo couldn't help but silently worry right along with his friends. all of them had very quickly become very attached to todoroki. todoroki had been hanging around them the past, like, week and a half, or maybe it was two, and his presence the last night was sorely missed. he hadn't shown up in the dorms at all the past night, or in any morning classes, or lunch.

so, naturally, they were all very concerned about where todoroki was.

bakugo had an especially bad feeling that had been building up since right before bakugo had decided to make todoroki dinner. todoroki had never showed up to eat the meal.

where the hell was todoroki?

this was the question sitting in bakugo's mind as he walked to English class after lunch.

"okay," present mic said, uncharacteristically quiet, stopping 3-a from walking into his classroom. "we're going to have a very quiet and chill class today. we're going to watch a movie, in english, and you'll be doing a small quiz on the movie tomorrow, so pay attention. and, please, whatever you do, please just keep calm and quiet."

bakugo's group had, naturally, not complied with mic's request. they had collectively lost their shit when they saw todoroki sitting in mic's chair, sketching on a loose piece of paper.

"todo!"

"todobroki!"

"todobro!"

"icyhot!"

" 'roki!"

"toad!"

(note that "toad" was what sero had taken to calling todoroki.)

mina, sero, kirishima, denki, jirou, and bakugo rushed up to todoroki. todoroki let his pencil drop onto the desk, and turned to look at them. bakugo could see heavy bags under his eyes, and they were slightly red and puffy. he was wearing an eraserhead-themed onsie, too...?

they all bombarded todoroki with different variations of the question "are you okay?"

"i had dinner waiting for you last night." bakugo blurted out. he immediately regretted his words, because todoroki's eyes widened and filled with tears.

todoroki leapt up from mic's chair, and wrapped his arms around bakugo.

"i'm sorry!" todoroki cried out, his voice slightly breaking. "i'm sorry i wasn't there last night, i'm sorry! i'm so sorry for everything! i-i--" todoroki let out a choked sob. "and i'm sorry i suddenly hugged you, i know it's weird, i'm sorry."

bakugo felt todoroki start to pull away, and he caught a glimpse of todoroki's face. tears were streaming down his face, and he was biting his bottom lip in an obvious attempt to keep himself from sobbing. his eyes were dull.

he looked broken.

bakugo impulsively pulled todoroki back into the hug, wrapping his arms todoroki, and softly stroked his hair and rubbing circles on his back.
