"Morning bestie," Charlie greeted as Cas clocked in for the day and changed his coat.

Charlie got a job at the hospital after quitting the one at the bank. Quitting she says but she was fired after hacking into Metatron's computer and releasing some very explicit pictures that no one probably wanted to see.

"Morning, Charles. Who do I have this morning?"

She handed him a clipboard. "Just your favourite patient. He's in room 405."

The omega nodded and went to the room number and knocked on the door before entering.

"Good Morning, Rufus."

"Doc, bout time you go here. These people been starving me with mopey sandwiches and a plop of jello. Can't a man get a beer around here?"

"No Rufus, that's the whole reason why you're in here." The omega muttered checking the patient's IV and writing on the clipboard.

"Ah fine," He grumbled. "How's the fiancé and kid?" He asked, munching on a celery stick. "Haven't seen the little brat in a while."

Cas smiled and checked the man's pulse. "They're fine. Marie's turning one in a few weeks."

"I expect my invitation to the party and make sure to save me a slice a cake."

"Sure thing, Rufus." The doctor chuckled.

Marie chuckled as her father held her hands and attempted to teach her how to walk. She dropped to the ground and proceeded to roll around in the grass.

"Now you're just doing this on purpose."

She smiled with her chubby cheeks and he smiled back and laid down beside her in the grass. The infant crawled on all fours for a few minutes before she was picked up.

"How about we go visit Ellen and Jo for some lunch?"

Marie squished Dean's face betweens her hands.

"I'll take that as a yes." He strapped her back into her stroller and went to stand but a sharp pain in his skull stopped him. The alpha squeezed his eyes shut and rubbed his aching temple.

A shadow casted over the two. "You alright sugar?" A wavering voice asked.

The headache passed and Dean got up to face an elderly woman. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little headache."

"You sure? You look kind of pale."

The brunet blond waved her off. "I'm sure it's nothing."

"That's a beautiful girl you got there. What's her name?"

"Oh, this is Marie and I'm Dean."

"Missouri" the woman responded. "She's a special one, I can feel it."

"Why'd you say that?" The alpha asked shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Her eyes. People don't really got that nowadays. You and your mate, you're both shifters." Missouri stated and Dean's eyes widened. "Don't worry I won't tell anyone. Just make sure you two stay safe."

The alpha nodded.

"Good Luck and go take care of that headache of yours. Go home, you should be getting some big news soon."

The man furrowed his eyebrows as Missouri walked off to meet up with a man and a teenage girl. He looked at Marie who seemed just as confused.

"Okay...Let's go."

~

Cas slammed his clipboard down on the desk. "Hey Charlie, I'm at the bathroom if anyone needs me. I don't feel so good."

"Okay Peter Parker."

The omega glared and Charlie looked down. "That's not funny."

"No it is not." She muttered as he walked away.

The parking lot was empty as Dean and Marie reached Baby. He shrugged the keys out of his pocket and parked the stroller beside him. He went to open the door but a sharp pain cut through his skull again and he dropped to his knees.

It felt like a million needles were piercing his brain at the same time and he squeezed his head to make it stop. He got his phone out of his pocket about to dial the first contact on the screen but his hand fell limp and so did the rest of his being. The last thing he heard was Marie's cries as two shadows loomed over them.
