Ch 18 V

Jungkook went to the bakery next day. He wanted to tell Chef Yoongi about baby Jimin.
He felt sad for them.
Chef Yoongi is working. He stopped when he saw Jungkook's eyes filled with tears.
"Baby Jungkook, come have a walk with me"
Jungkook followed him out into the town. Chef Yoongi walked calmly with his hands behind him.
"H-Hyung..hyung..J-Jiminie-"
"I know baby Jungkook"
Jungkook let out a sob.
"Don't cry Jungkook. It can't be helped. He has to move on"
"Evil Master V sent him away!.. I couldn't do anything. I'm sorry"
Yoongi huffed walking beside him.
"Don't be, baby koo. It's a good thing he moved on. People are meant to pass away"
"B-But you both-" Jungkook hicupped, "aren't you sad?"
"Jimin is not supposed to be damned here. He is too precious for that. We had some good times. I am happy he moved on" Yoongi ruffled Jungkook's hair cheering him up.
"I-I don't understand. Aren't you angry? Master V put him in darkness before. What if he sent him to darkness?"
Yoongi smiled at him as he took him to a small park. There are reapers roaming around.
"Baby koo, master V is not the villain that you think he is. You'll get to know when its your time to move on"
"But then why is master V here? And then all the other reapers? You are also here from a long time. Why do we have to move on?"
They sat on a bench near a pond. Jungkook grimaced at the disgusting muddy pond.
"Baby Koo, reapers are different from baby reapers" he patted Jungkook's head. Jungkook felt sad thinking about the darkness. What if he is sent there?
"Yoongi hyung, how are we different?" Jungkook moved close hugging Yoongi's arm.
"Reapers carry eternal grief. It is a punishment. Our souls are frozen cause we can't get over it. It is something which is irrevocable. And while we do the atoning, a lot of reapers find the urge to help other souls move forward, like V"
Jungkook looked at the dirty pond in deep thought.
"Baby reapers and ghosts are different from us. Baby reapers lack the energy while ghosts are just unwilling to move on. But they can move forward. They have hope. Hope of afterlife"
"Master V said he will discard us to darkness if we don't move forward"
Yoongi chuckled.
"Yes cause this place is only for protected souls and reapers or this won't be any different from darkness now would it?...The world is harsh isn't it?"
He is still evil..for kicking us out of the hollow..
"Hyungie, if you don't mind telling me, What is your eternal grief?" Jungkook asked Yoongi.
"I can't tell you mine. I can't speak about it. It still effects me greatly. But I can tell V's grief"
Jungkook looked at him with big eyes.
The scary reaper's story?
"Yes..please.." he looked up at Yoongi hyung.
"Once upon a time, there is a little boy called Taehyung. He is a very bright kid and is an overall joy in his family. One day his family faced a great disaster. The river flooded and took all of them into the water. Taehyung died drowning in water. Taehyung cried as he realized he is dead. Namjoon, the reaper at the time pitied him. He felt sad for the young kid who drowned and died at a very young age. He convinced the young cheerful kid and sent him back to life. He took Taehyung's brother in his place. He reaped Taehyung's brother. Taehyung is too young to understand what happened. He felt happy he got his life back. Taehyung went back to living with his parents. But their parents were sad for his brother's loss. As Taehyung grew up he started to regret what he did. He beat himself over and over for his choice. He hated the reaper Namjoon who took his brother in his stead. He confessed to his mother and his mother reacted rather harshly on him. He committed suicide when he was seventeen. But by the time he died the regret completely took over his soul. His soul is frozen. Thus he became a reaper. He could nolonger move on. He never used his name nor shown his face for his sin is still consuming him. And henceforth he is harsh to baby reapers. He believes everyone has to meet their destiny and that is the only way things are meant to be. He might be hard on you but he is just doing what's right Jungkook" Yoongi patted him on the back.
Jungkook has tears in his eyes. He gulped trying to stop them from falling down.
Ohh poor master V
"And about the darkness, don't worry baby koo, his training is effective. He makes you fear and face your fears. Most baby reapers make it to heaven or afterlife" he smiled assuring Jungkook.
Jungkook smiled looking at the pond. Strangely the pond looked beautiful even though it is dirty. There is a small lotus blooming in it.
"Thank you Yoongi hyung" he gave a little kiss on his cheek and ran back to the dorm.
