-I'm back in school, my body aching from the last few weeks of training with Naeva. She's been getting pretty good, you know, for a beginner. I look up at my teacher, mumbling an answer to the question she just asked me and then zoning out once again.
-My eyes focus again and I see Naeva's pages. She's now studying advanced fighting techniques, mostly dragon slaying techniques... which's disturbing... I should probably tell Volga about that... she might be dangerous. Somehow, I just don't want too though. She feels familiar and kind. Also, she's pretty much right most of the time. I note that the only time she hasn't been right is when she said we would never become friends. I shrug that off.
-I look up again at the teacher, my mouth moving in a practiced speech. Sadly, this isn't really new to me. I note once again that tomorrow is the day when he's going to siege the castle. I'm going to have to disappear after that. I mentally sigh.
- "Time to pack up... I guess," I heard Naeva say, sighing. I examine her once again, her scars sharp against her skin. I sigh as I see the welts on her skin that were created by the wooden sword. Packing up my stuff, I go over the schedule for tomorrow. I walk out the door, following a much faster Naeva to the training arena. I was about to greet her until I felt a tap on my shoulder.
- "Hey Link!" a voice greeted. I stiffened as I turned around. Her?
- "Uh- Hi- Your majesty-" I said, awkwardness flowing through my body. The person in front of me is Princess Zelda. Her golden hair is blowing in the wind.
- "What's been up lately?" she asked. I slightly stiffened. I hate all royals. Especially the Hyrulian branch.
-I shrugged. "Just been training someone," I respond coolly, "she has great potential and will be a great improvement to the team, if she decides to sign up." True this is all true, but I'm not going to mention that she should sign up. That was my biggest mistake of the year, aside from having a fairy being turned back to its original self, which was really disturbing.
- "Oh," her eyes scanned my face, narrowing them, "is she cute?" UHM! That's kind of a weird question.
- "Why do you ask?" I asked, not wanting to discuss this stuff at the moment.
-She turned away. "Just asking." Is she smiling...?
- "Okay... Well, I have to train now," I said, wanting to get away.
-Her smile faded and a flicker of anger appeared in her eyes. "Oh... ok..." she mumbled, "I guess you do have priorities. "
- "Yep," I mutter, "see yuh." I briskly walked away, waving to Naeva.
- "What took you so long?" she asked, pushing away from the wall she was leaning on.
- "The princess wanted to talk to me for some reason," I laugh.
- "Oooo!" she exclaimed, "that's an honor!" I guess... yeah, if you're Naeva...
- "I know right," I agreed, "well do you want to practice with actual swords today?"
-Her eyes lit up as I mentioned fighting with actual swords. "Yes!" she exclaimed.
- "Well come on!" I chuckled. I lead her into a room on the northeast wing of the arena. I opened the weaponry and grabbed my sword. I found a similar weighted sword and passed it to Naeva. She smiled as she examined the sword. She walked out and I followed, excited to finally use my basic sword.
- "Let's go!" Naeva urged excitedly. I followed, the background slowly becoming darker. I stop. There are no clouds. Why-... I look up and...
- "Vol!?" I yell, realizing my mistake the moment his name left my mouth. Naeva is staring at me, a mixture of disbelief and anger flowing through her person.
- "It's you!" she exclaims, holding her sword in her hand, "you're that kid all those years ago!" Her voice was hurt, her sword hand twitching.
- "Wha?"
- "You're that kid who was taken by Volga."
-How did she know that... The only one who knows that is that one 9 year old that saw me... oh wait... How did I not realize that it was her? I knew she looked familiar... I- I'm so dumb! AHHHHGH!
- "I can explain-"
- "Don't," tears were forming in her eyes. Her sword is now in position to fight, "I knew that there was something fishy about this."
- "You made the connection between me and Vol?" I was taken aback, this girl figured me out like a book the first week I've seen her. How is this possible? Vol's the only one who could have done that.
- "You...," she stopped, her eyes narrowing, "you idiot." That was the last thing I remember before she yelled, running after me with a chunk of steel.
