The drive home seemed to take less time than the drive there, Rave and I played word games this time laughing at each other's answers.
"How does chocolate milk make you think of mustaches?" He asks laughing at me.
"Because last time you drank some you had a chocolate mustache afterward," I say defending myself which only makes him laugh harder.
Rolling my eyes I say, "ok sir laughs a lot it's your turn.""Colonel Mustard," he says.
"Clue," I say looking at him.
"Mystery," he smirks.
"Books," I smile.
"Library," he says.
"Quiet," I wiggle my eyebrows, I think I've just won.
"Place," he says with a smile.
"What kind of answer is that?" I say.
"The movie remember," he reminds me and I groan, "damn it ok umm.... thing," I smile at my plan.
"What?" He asks confused.
"You know the saying person, place, or thing," I say.
"Ok....eye," he says as he passes a truck.
"Ball"
Needless to say nobody won by the time we got back to the pack house.
As soon as I opened my door I was attacked by Jackie."Guess what I'm pregnant!!!" She yells before I can even guess she's so excited.
"Me too!" I say and we scream together making the guys laugh.
"Congrats," Leon says to Raven who smiles and says it back.
"I'm going to have two grandbabies!" Martha says with happy tears in her eyes as Jackie and I smile and nod.
"Jared! We're going to have two grandbabies!" Martha yells out.
"Martha how could you possibly tell if Jackie is having twins?" He asks coming outside.
She whacks him making us laugh,
"Scarlett is pregnant too!"The look on his face is priceless, then he turns to us and runs at Raven tackling him, "your going to be a daddy? I'm so happy for you son!" He says hugging Raven.
Raven cracks up laughing, "thanks dad!"
Martha comes over to Jackie and I crying and hugging us.
"Excuse me Alpha sorry to interrupt but where is the bathroom?" Sabrina asks smiling.
"Oh sorry about that it's right this way," I say getting ready to take her there myself when Sylvia comes to the door and leads the way instead while introducing herself.
"That's the elder I will be training with," I say to the others.
"Elder? She doesn't even look old enough to be an elder," Jackie remarks.
"I know right," I smile, "she's really nice and pretty down to earth for an elder."
"So how are you going to train if you're prego?" Jackie asks thinking about it, I can see her trying to work it out in her head and not coming up with an answer.
"For now I'm doing mental training, apparently it's going to take great mental fortitude," I sigh.
"So how are you going to fight them if they go after their victims energy before they eat their bodies?" She asks worried about me.
"Well according to the prophecy I'm supposed to be able to use the elements, and the only other species that was capable of using them to the fullest potential, died out before the Dreggs were created," I tell her.
"Are you going to be ok? If this takes out so much energy?" She trails off leaving our concerns unsaid.
We've heard stories of people who used all they had and it either left them vulnerable when they were still needed or they died. Those who died gave too much and they just couldn't recover. The biggest worry we have is that out come, for all of us, but I'm also worried, what if I'm not enough? what if I fail? I can only pray that I don't die and that I can do what no one has before me.
"Come on my beautiful girls let's go get you off your feet!" Martha says wrapping Jackie and I in her arms leading us into the packhouse.
We sat down to lunch and everyone was introduced to each other, like Jackie they were worried about me and my unborn child. Sabrina did all she could to quiet their fears and mine.
"You are blessed by the Moon Goddess, you needn't worry she tends to keep a close eye on those she has blessed. Yes our paths tend to differ and be much more difficult than most but that is why she keeps a closer eye on us. I think that many of the trials in life we face are to help prepare us for what's to come, to make us strong enough to endure the trials ahead.
Not that she enjoys our suffering because she doesn't, but without strong hearts we would crumble beneath the magnitude of our tasks. In a way some would see our plight as a double edged sword that they would not be able to to withstand. Lucky we are made of sturdier stuff," Sabrina laughs.
She's right though if I never had gone through what I have in life I wouldn't be as strong as I am, also I wouldn't have Raven in my life or our baby inside me. I would never change my life because it brought me my family, they make life worth living.
Sensing my inner thoughts Raven holds my hand bringing it to his mouth and kisses my fingers. I melt when he does sweet things like that.
"Do you mind if we stay here tonight?" Sabrina asks yawning.
"Not at all, Yen can you show our guest to a room please?" Raven answers Sabrina, Yen nods his head and rises to show Sabrina to her room for the night.
"Oh I better go call Dev before he worries," Raven excuses himself to head to his office.
Yawning I turn to the others and bid them goodnight, hugs were given and just before I left, I remembered to tell Leon about John.
Surprised he says, "wow didn't know he cared that much I guess I'll call him."
"Did you guys not get along?" I asked.
"No we did, it's just we weren't really close even though I was Gamma and he was Beta," he explains.
"Oh... well now you know," I say with a smile then I let out another big yawn.
"You should get going see you tomorrow and sweet deams," he says softly nudgging me towards the stairs.
"Ok later," I wave yawning again.
I make it to our room strip from my clothes and grab one of Rave's shirts. Slipping under the covers I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
