Tak P.O.V
I angrily pounded buttons and flipped switches on the control panel as I prepared for lift-off.
Idiots, I thought bitterly. These Earthlings are all idiots! I should have known better than to think that a planet of talking hairless apes could help me! I could not wait to get off this rock and back into space.
Just then a warning light began blinking on the control panel.
The computer's electronic voice crackled and said, "Unknown energy flux had been detected!"
An unknown energy flux meant someone had teleported to Earth. It must have been a Crillinarian. I guessed Laloc did not keep her word after all.
"Computer, was it a Crillinarian?" I asked.
"Negative," the computer replied. "According to readings, the energy flux centered around organic life.
Organic life, huh? Laloc was the only Organic life I knew of who could have teleported to Earth.
"Computer, show me the location of the energy flux," I ordered.
A map appeared on the monitor showing me Laloc's exact location.
I grabbed my sword. My Zeron Crystal may not work for me anymore, but I still had my fighting skills.
I pressed a button on my bracelet and teleported to Laloc's location.
I stood in a wooded area. Laloc was a few yards away from me. She was wearing her Zeron armor and holding her ax.
Without a second thought, I charged at her with my sword. Laloc easily dodged my attack, then butted me in the back of the head with the hilt of her ax. I fell forward.
I scrambled back to my feet and tried for another attack. She blocked every blow of my sword.
Then I noticed something. Laloc wasn't fighting back. All she was doing was dodging and blocking.
"What's the matter with you?" I snarled. "Fight back, you coward!"
"I didn't come here to fight you," Laloc said.
"Then why are you here?"
"The Crillinarians mutinied against me," she told me. "I barely got away with my life."
This infuriated me. Did she think that I was going to take her in after what she had done to our sisters?'
As though reading my mind Laloc said, "I don't expect you to ever forgive me, but now is not the time for personal grudges. We need to work together now more than ever."
"Why?"
"The Crillinarians are going to send Tragon to Earth."
I gasped in horror. The name Tragon was well known to me. He was the one who had caused the downfall of the Zerons. The Earth wouldn't stand a chance against this being!
"I thought he was gone for good," I said.
Laloc frowned. "We kept him locked up in the belly of our ship," she admitted.
"And now you want my help to defeat him. Correct?"
Laloc nodded. "Yes."
"No."
Laloc stared in dismay.
"I'm done with this foolish planet," I told her. "As far as I'm concerned Earth is on its own. In a few hours, I'm going to be leaving this planet and I suggest you do the same!"
Laloc arched her eyebrows. "Like you, I couldn't care less about the Earth, but unless we stop Tragon here and now no planet would be safe." She gazed into my eyes. "Do you think Tragon is going to stop at Earth? I tried to lead them to only drain the life energy from the cruelest of planets, but now all that had changed. As long as the Crillinarians exist no planet is safe from them. Our only hope is to stop them once and for all, and we must start by defeating Tragon!"
I turned away from her in frustration, knowing how impossible this all sounded. I then spun back to her and cried, "And how are we supposed to defeat Tragon when the whole Zeron race couldn't may I ask?"
"Things are different now," Laloc said.
"Of course things are different now," I said, rolling my eyes. "Now there are just two of else and I can't transform!"
Laloc pulled something from her belt. Another wand. Toby's wand. "We need Zeronia," she said.
I gazed at the shiny red crystal at the end of the wand that sparkled in the moonlight. A few moments ago I thought it was a mistake to give Toby the Zeron Crystal. Now Laloc was acting like he was our only hope!
I turned away. "Toby doesn't want to be Zeronia anymore. I don't think he ever wanted to be Zeronia."
"Then we got to convince him," Laloc said urgently.
I turned back to her. "Even if we can convince him I don't think he'd be any kind of a match against Tragon. Heck, he couldn't even defeat me and I can't transform. How do you think he would do against someone like Tragon?"
"We must at least try," Laloc pleaded. "You may think I'm crazy, but I believe Toby can stop Tragon."
"You're right, I DO THINK YOU'RE CRAZY!"
"Tak, before I wouldn't believe that an Earth boy could become a Zeron Warrior. The fact that the Zeron Crystal could work for him was no more than an insult to the Zeron race, but, and I hate to admit this, the way he took down those Crillinarians showed that he is a true Zeron Warrior through and through."
I was silent for a moment. "I think we should stay with my first plan and leave the earth," I said. "But let give your plan a try." I then fixed her with a hard stare. "But know this, we are still not friends and I would never forgive you!"
