I ran until I physically couldn't anymore
feeling sick, I slipped into an alleyway, it smelt like rubbish bags and the floor was damp
Pulling my mask off, I let out a sigh of relief,
" I'm alive " I muttered under my breath
My heart was racing
My legs felt as if they were on fire
I refused to carry on thinking about what I had just done
Right now I needed to get somewhere safe, somewhere where the police won't find me
I caught my breath, stuffed my mask back into my pocket, and slipped back out of the alleyway when nobody was looking trying to look as casual as I could.
I kept my hands in my pockets so that non of the notes would fly out due to the wind.
while I was walking to the " safe house ", I tried my best not to think about my actions but one way or another, all of my thoughts led back to that, and every time it made my stomach churn and make me dizzy
when I arrived at the house I knocked on the old door in the rhythm that they had taught me
I knocked twice
left it for a second,
knocked four times
left it
and finally knocked once
I let out a sigh when the door opened, it wasn't relief this time though
it was annoyance
I hated being here, the house was practically falling apart,
the paint chipped off the walls,
the place smelt of damp and rotting wood.
with every step I took, the floorboards beneath me creaked
I turned into the largest room where a large group of men and women sat, as soon as I moved all eyes darted in my direction, causing me to feel uneasy
attempting to put on a confident act, I walked over to the small table in the middle of them, took a deep breath, and emptied my pockets that were filled with the cash register money
turning around to walk away, I took a step forward as a woman called my name
" Jasper... jasper... jasper, " she said in a mocking tone
" yes," I said, attempting to hide my shaky voice, continuing to look forwards
" you made a tad mistake, now didn't you," she said, sounding assertive and slightly annoyed
" I'm afraid I don't know what you mean "
" oh I sure you know what I'm talking about, jasper " her voice made my heart drop
I knew exactly what she was talking about, I slowly turned around to face her.
she was medium height, with dark hair and blue eyes. shes stood with confidence and glared at me as if she was staring into my soul
" did you really think I wouldn't find out, I specifically said, leave nobody alive, or did you just chose not to hear that part !"
" look, I just thought - i - i - "
" I do not care what you thought! , you follow orders, MY ORDERS is that clear! "
" yes," I said quietly, but loud enough so that she heard me
" now I have one of my own tracking the young girl, and her mother has already been taken care of, now, listen carefully, I don't want you getting confused again "
oh god what now
" I'm going to give you a location, you are to go to this location, there you will find a woman called Lilith, she has the girl, you are not to harm her, you understand, harm her and you will be the next one to die, understood "
I stayed silent and nodded my head, why was she so protective over this woman?
" you are to collect the girl, take her to the city edge, and you deal with the problem, are we clear "
I waited a minute before responding, I didn't want to have to kill again
" ARE WE CLEAR?" the woman said louder this time
" crystal," I said in agreement
oh god, here we go again.
