I Love You

(Y/N)'s POV

It was late in the afternoon. I sat on the bench outside observing a specific someone at a distance. That someone was Blake Belladonna. She was a girl of many mysteries and shrouded in darkness yet she was kind and warm.

I had fallen head over heels for her. She was everything I could have ever dreamed of. There was only one problem though.

Sun: "Hey babe." He sat down next to Blake and she leaned into him. They shared a quick kiss before Blake began reading her book out loud. I got up from the bench and walked away with a sour feeling. My feet carried me to my dorm where I found my sister and teammates.

Pyrrha: "Hey little bro."

(Y/N): "Hey sis."

Jaune: "Now that (Y/N) is here we can discuss the dance." He sat up and look at me. "Who you going with (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "I'm going by myself."

Jaune: "You don't have a date?!"

(Y/N): "The girl I want to take is already taken." The room went silent for a few moments. Everyone knew about my feelings for Blake. Ren broke then silence with a cough.

Ren: "We still need to practice however."

(Y/N): "Practice what?"

Nora: "Our dance moves!!" She got up from her seat and started to dance around.

Ren: "I have a dance all planned out."

(Y/N): "Oh boy."

Timeskip - 2 Weeks

It was the night of the dance and everyone just finished getting ready. We left the dorm and made our way to the dance. On the way we ran into Team RWBY.

Blake looked absolutely stunning in her black and purple dress. Her make up enhanced her already beautiful features. She was a goddess in human form.

Pyrrha: "Shouldn't you compliment your date (Y/N)?" Ruby stumbled up to me and smiled awkwardly.

Her dress was red and black. It complimented her hair and the little bit of make up she wore.

(Y/N): "You look good Ruby. The dress really suits you."

Ruby: "Thanks (Y/N)." Her cheeks were dust a lite pink due to the compliment. She held onto my arm and we slowly walked to the dance. Upon arriving, everyone else met their dates and started to mingle.

Ruby and I mostly stayed near the punch bowl and small talked. All the while, my eyes were fixated on Blake. The way she danced, the way she smiled. It was so unfair to watch her from a distance.

Ruby: "You should ask her for a dance."

(Y/N): "Who?"

Ruby: "The girl you wanted to come here with."

(Y/N): "She has Sun to dance with. Don't think she'd want to dance with another guy."

Ruby: "You never know till you try (Y/N)."

She was right after all. It wouldn't hurt to ask her. My feet carried me over to Blake while the music tempo started to slow down. I stopped in front of her.

(Y/N): "Blake, may I have this dance?" I extended my hand.

Blake: "You may." She took my hand and placed her other on my shoulder while I placed my other on her waist. We swayed to the music happily. My eyes kept contact with her until I spotted something in the far back.
