2 months had gone by since you had last spoken to Weston, since you had even texted him. You guys were completely out of contact with each other, and honestly, you felt great. You didn't feel like you had a weight on your shoulders to carry every time you heard your phone ring at night. You felt free in a way, but you also felt guilty for feeling that way.

You had met a new guy who you absolutely were in love with, and he treated you with respect, something that you had been lacking quite honestly for a long time.

Ever since you got with Weston and were hanging out with him, you kind of prioritized him over everyone else. While he got to run around and date other girls, you kind of stuck by his side like some sort of puppy. After you guys ended things, you finally got yourself out there and were able to meet

Thomas.

He wasn't the most attractive man, and he definitely wasn't famous or anything, but he made you feel good. You guys had only been seeing each other for about a month and a half but you two had talked about moving in together and the life you had ahead. You guys were basically official.

Your Instagram was filled with pictures of you and him going out on dates or just hanging out at your apartment. Every time you saw a like from Weston you couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head. You wondered if he missed you. Sometimes you would even wish that he'd comment on it, or that he'd reach out and ask how you were doing.

He never did.

You couldn't be bothered though, you were happy, and that's all that mattered.

You were waiting for Thomas to come over, you were sitting on your couch and just scrolling through things to watch on youtube. You weren't really trying to find anything specific, just trying to fill the time until he got to your apartment.

You heard the door unlock and Thomas walked in.

"Hey baby, how're you doing?" He asked while setting down a bag on your counter.

"I've been good, just trying to find something to watch to fill the time, how was your day."

"Oh, you know good. I ran into a girl at the coffee shop who said that she used to know you. She must've recognized me from your Instagram. Said her name was Kalynn." Your heart dropped. You had finally rid the Koury's from your life, and now here they were, right back into the conversation.

"Oh yeah. We used to be good friends a while back, but we don't really talk much anymore." You didn't want to get into the full story of how you betrayed her by sleeping with her brother, because then you'd have to get into her brother, and that's not something that your new boyfriend needed to hear about.

"Oh, that's a shame, she seemed like a nice girl." He didn't seem too interested to hear your story of friendship with Kalynn, so that was a relief.

"Anyway, you know my friend Mark? He's having a big party tonight at his place, and he asked me to come." You never really minded your boyfriend's big social life, he was constantly going out and partying, sometimes he'd ask you to join, but when he didn't you had no reason to believe he was unfaithful, so you let him go... no questions asked.

"Oh, that sounds like fun. What time is it at?" You questioned.

"It's at like 9:30, did you wanna come?" You were ecstatic, though you wouldn't have minded him going, you were excited to get out there and have a fun social life for once. You didn't have many of your own friends, but Thomas's friend's girlfriends had become acquaintances that you didn't mind having around.

"Yeah, I'd love to. What's the attire?"

"Just something casual, nothing too crazy. There's going to be a lot of people there though, it's probably one of his biggest parties yet." He laughed to himself. You didn't really know his friend Mark too much, but you knew that he was constantly throwing or attending parties, it was basically his whole Instagram page. Photos of him taken when he was blackout drunk at 2 a.m. with captions like

"Live like it's your last night on Earth."

Very cliche.

"Alright then. I'll find something to wear."

It was 8:45 p.m. Your makeup was done, you had taken a shower and blowdried your hair to make it look as perfect as you can without needing it to be a certain way. You knew that if you were going to be dancing all night that your hair would definitely not be secure. You were looking through your closet trying to find something that was a little sexy so that your boyfriend would keep his eyes on you all night, but something that wasn't too flashy so that not ALL eyes would be on you all night.

You settled on a black mini skirt, a brown cropped tank top, and an oversized blue cardigan... You looked hot, but also presentable.

"Are you almost ready?" You heard Thomas yell at you from the bathroom.

"Yes! I'm ready." You walked out of your room and he glanced outside of the bathroom to take a look at you.

"Wow, you look seriously gorgeous y/n." You started to blush.

"Why thank you, I could say the same thing about you." Thomas was wearing just a pair of jeans and a nice sweater that he had gotten at the mall a couple of weeks back. He looked great.

"Well, we should probably want to get going if we want to make it there before a crowd forms outside." Thomas only half-joked. You knew this party was going to be big, but as long as your boyfriend remained by your side, you had nothing to worry about. You came off a bit socially awkward, but after a few drinks. There was nothing holding you back.

You guys got into Thomas's car and were off to have a great night.
