The next morning you woke up super early. The sun was shining through your window and felt hot against your skin, but the lack of heavy clothing you were wearing made it feel nice rather than unpleasantly hot.You turned to see Weston still asleep next to you, it was weird, you never usually woke up before him, you'd always wake up and he'd be on his phone, getting dressed, or in the shower. It was nice to see him this way, so peaceful.
After your guys' talk last night, Weston decided to stay over and you didn't mind at all. You had always wanted more than what you had with Weston and now you were kind of getting it. It was definitely different.
The first time you guys tried this out, it felt wrong and you both knew it, but for some reason, at this moment... As you were looking at Weston in your bed sleeping, it felt right. More than right.
Weston must've been able to sense you looking at him because shortly after you woke up, he did too.
"Goodmorning." You smiled. He smiled back at you and closed his eyes.
"Goodmorning." He said, sounding tired. You shook him a bit to reawaken him, though you knew he wasn't really sleeping.
"I was thinking we could make something for breakfast," you suggested
"Like what?"
"I don't know, maybe like some pancakes?" You didn't really like pancakes, but you had the mix sitting in your cupboard and it was the only breakfast food you could really think of.
"I mean, yeah, sure why not." Weston replied. You got up and put a sweater on over your tank top so that you weren't too cold now that you weren't under the covers. Weston followed your footsteps as he got out of bed and put on his sweater as well.
You guys walked out into your kitchen and you found the mix in the cupboard.
"I can't say that I make good pancakes, but it's worth a shot." You laughed.
"Don't you literally just add water?" Weston asked, raising an eyebrow at you.
"I mean, yes. There's always room to mess something up though, trust me, I know."
You got out a big bowl and started mixing the pancake mix in with a cup of water. Weston walked up behind you putting his hands around your waist as you were mixing the batter. You liked this, the feeling of him behind you, you guys making breakfast together, it felt real.
"You're mixing it wrong." Weston said, smirking to himself.
"I am not, there is no way that you can mix something wrong." You argued back nudging him off of you so that you could get the pan ready. You pulled out a medium-sized pan and held it away from the stove as you sprayed on some non-stick spray. You set the temperature on medium and poured in the batter.
"Has anyone ever told you how sexy you look in the morning?" Weston asked you. You weren't expecting the compliment, so you weren't exactly sure how to react.
"Uh, no. I guess that'd make you the first." You replied awkwardly. He laughed obviously being able to sense your awkwardness.
As the pancake started to turn less liquidy and actually edible, you decided it was time to flip and start on another one. You weren't really a big pancake eater, but, anything to get Weston to stay at your place and still have the means to entertain him, you'd do.
After you made a couple more pancakes you got some syrup and butter from inside of your fridge and placed it where Weston was sitting at the counter. You grabbed your plate and took a seat next to him.
"These actually aren't bad" Weston said through a mouthful of pancakes.
"Did you doubt my ability?" You asked.
"No, not at all, but for the boxed batter, really good job."
"So, even better than you could've done huh?" Weston just nodded for a response. You guys continued to eat until your plates were cleared. Once you guys were both done, you grabbed his plate and set it in your sink.
"Cooking and cleaning? The full package." Weston joked.
"Yeah, this isn't going to be an everyday thing." You laughed. The silence after made you feel a bit awkward as you realized that saying "every day" insinuated that you and Weston would be hanging out every day, and just because things were going good today, didn't mean that this would be a common occurrence.
"I wanted to talk to you about something." You said while putting the now clean dishes in the clean side of your sink.
"Yeah, is everything all right?" Weston asked.
"I mean, I know it's kind of weird, so like if you don't have anything to say back, that's totally cool."
"Just tell me what's on your mind." Weston almost demanded.
"I was thinking like if you're ever fine with it... you, me, and Kalynn could all hang out like we used to, you know? I mean I know we weren't ever a friend group, but like if you'd be down. I just miss her sometimes. Obviously, you don't have to introduce me as your girlfriend or anything." You joked to ease up some tension that filled the room.
"Well, obviously, I wouldn't introduce you as such, since you aren't... but yeah, I'd be down for that. I'd have to talk to Kalynn obviously, but seeing how much she talks about you, I'm sure she'd be excited." Weston shrugged.
"Listen, I have to go." Weston said while looking at his phone. You weren't sure if it was the comment about you being his girlfriend or if something had come up and he had to head home but you were left with confusion.
The day started off perfect, and you couldn't help but think why it couldn't have continued that way.
