Chapter 15 - It's only a matter of time

~ Rachel ~

Today I'm really excited as Pia's transferring across to come and work with me and I can't wait to see her.  It's her first day at Music Box, so I'm making sure it's going to be a pretty cruisy day for her.  Greg is away so it will be just Pia, Miles Shayne and I here and Jarrod  We don't have too many bookings and I'm sure I remember the guys saying they'll be coming in late, so it will be the perfect opportunity to help settle her in and show her around.  

Pia mentioned looking over the accounts for Jarrod when she gets in first thing, but in the afternoon I told her to keep a couple of hours free.  I had a cancellation and I'd like to use the vocal session and give her some tips to help her prepare for the audition.  We already discussed a few ideas and plans that we would like to put in place over the coming weeks for the store.  She's really creative and she's got some fantastic ideas and I can't wait to see them come to fruition.

I talked to Alicia last night and she tells me that she thinks Pia needs a little bit of a shove!  I don't want to do that as I'm not pushy like Alicia, instead I'm going to try and boost her confidence, to make she doesn't chicken out of the auditions.  I've already told my agent about how Pia and how amazing she is.  I'll never forget the first time I heard her DJ, then she sang mixing her voice in and it was out of this world!  I bumped into Miles that night at the club and I didn't realise it was her at the time.  But it wasn't until a little while later that I realised after talking to Miles about it, that his friend 'Oly' and Pia are the same person!  .And I'm pretty sure as soon as they meet her they will agree with me and offer her a spot.  She is so humble and has no idea how talented she is.

I've just said goodbye to Pia and I'm already starting to feel a little sad, as we become very close in the last year and I'm used to speaking with her everyday.  Even though I'm only going to be gone for a couple of weeks, I'm really going to miss her.  Today I leave for my tour and I'm also a bit sad that I won't get the opportunity to be there with her and see her audition and I wont even get to speak to her properly until I get back.  I know she will be fine but I'm feeling frustrated by it all.

She asked me for some suggestions on what she should sing for her audition.  She had a list of  songs in mind, but she wanted my opinion which was nice of her to ask.  I tend to pick alot of my songs based on the lyrics and the 'vibe' I get.  I need to feel a connection with the song and I know Pia is very much the same.   I've given her some suggestions and I've asked Rachel to keep an eye on her.  Rachel has offered to give her some pointers this week whilst she's at the store.  Pia tells me she's pretty sure she has decided on her audition song.  ET by Katy Perry and I think it's perfect as it will highlight her talent.  Although reading the lyrics tot he song and I wonder if there's another reason...Shayne. 

I wish her luck for the audition, incase I don't get the chance to call her again beforehand.  I make her promise to call me as soon as she finds out the results.  I know she will be fine and I really hope she doesn't chicken out.  I've told Rachel I've given her the information as it's her agent who is holding the auditions for her next show.  So I've threatened to strangle her if she's doesn't atleast give it a try.

It was a bit of a rushed call as Pia was having her breakfast and I know today is her first day at our other store, Music Box.  She sounded a little nervous on the phone and I'm pretty sure I know why.

Shayne

I'm not surprised, especially after the way I saw them together last night and the way they were flirting with each other.  They seem quite touchy feely with each other already and I noticed them stealing glances at each other all night.  At times I saw that Shayne couldn't stop staring at her and Pia was just as bad.  Even Miles noticed and said it's really obvious that they like each other, so we tried our best to give them a bit of space.  We even disappeared on them whilst on the dancefloor to give them abit of privacy.

Pia tells me that she's pretty sure he's interested and she's really excited as they exchanged phone numbers last night.  She also mentions she's meeting up with him for lunch this week and it's making her even more nervous now as he's going to be there at the store this week.  I tell her as I'm so thrilled for her that it's about time she found some happiness and I can hear it in her voice.  

Pia said that this week was originally just going to be her and Rachel, but there was a stuff up on the roster and Rachel has told her that the boys are coming in later.  So I think she's hoping to avoid them both and hide in the sound booth with Rachel for the afternoon.  At times Pia can be quite shy and other times she really surprises me as she can be so bold, it's scary.

We all know how much she really likes Shayne and Miles has told me that he's confided in him and is just as interested.  Besides it's not half obvious!  But every now and then I get a sense from Pia that she's a little scared and she's holding back.  Perhaps she's feeling guilty about moving on as she mentioned Rhys for the first time in awhile it the other night, I really hope she's not having second thoughts.  

No matter how much they try to hide it, we all see it...now it's only a matter of time.
