Chapter 21 - Christmas in July

~ Miles ~

I scan the room and immediately spot Pia and Shayne entering the club. Pia looks amazing, she always does and tonight she's wearing wearing a long red one shoulder dress. Her outift works perfectly with the theme in the club tonight as they are having a 'christmas in july' party, so the place is fully decked out with lots of decorations and mistletoe everywhere.

I notice immediately that there's something different about her tonight, she's positively glowing. She's got the biggest smile on her face which is something I've not seen in a long time and I realise why...Shayne. I feel like I'm almost spying as I watch them walk through the club, both smiling and stealing glances at each other. They're so cute together and it's obvious they're falling for each other as they've been inseparable lately. They seem so intimately close, constantly touching and holding hands, it makes me smile.   I wonder...Are they or aren't they. I motion to Jarrod that they've arrived and I see a big smile already spread across Jarrod's face as he's seen what I did.

Rachel's running late as per usual but this time we know its because she hung around for a while after Pia's audition. She wanted to check out more of the auditions and to see if she could find out any news. She rang earlier to give an update and from what I've heard, Pia's audition was amazing she completely blew everyone away. Rachel seems to think she's in with a very good chance but unfortunately not even Rachel knows any results or news yet. She wont know more until she meets with her manager again in a few weeks. Even then, they may hold another round of auditions so it's possible Pia may be called back to perform again if they can't decide. So for now it's the painful waiting game until they decide on the final selection of performers.

Im just a little bummed I couldn't be there and so is Jarrod, but I know she understands as today was another promo day for both stores. We don't normally open on a Saturday but occasionally we hold special events and so far they seem to be doing really well as our clientele is growing and business is booming. Now both stores are going well with Jarrod and Pia keeping check on everything, there's a big possibility we'll need to hire more staff.

"Hey superstar" Jarrod says as he envelopes Pia in a big hug and shakes Shayne's hand.

I then shake Shayne's hand as Jarrod's girlfriend Nikki is next to steal a hug from Pia, the two of them jump up and down with all the excitement.

"Oly sorry I couldn't make it, but I heard you're a superstar" grabbing PIa's free hand and pulling her towards me as I scoop her into a hug.

"It's ok, I know you guys had to work" she looks at the floor

oh no, I've made her feel guilty...shit!

"But it's ok Miles, you know I had some of the crew come to see me, including Shay" grinning as she turns to Shayne and wraps her arms around his waist and snuggles into him as he reciprocates.

hmm.... they seem...closer maybe...they are together...

"It's nice to see you two getting along" Jarrod teases, interupting my thoughts

"Yeah these two are practically attached at the hip lately" I add, giving them both a wink.

I know Pia has been worried about me as she thought I was upset with her, but we sorted things out. I'm so happy that they really like each other, besides it's not half obvious now because they can't stop staring at each other. As long as it doesn't affect our friendship, I told her I'm fine with it. I know Jarrod has already given Shayne the 'don't hurt her or I'll break you' talking to and it doesn't surprise me being he's so protective of her. Jarrod can be pretty damn scary when he's angry but we agree that Shayne's genuine and we've not seen her like this in a very long time. It's really great to see her so happy, laughing and smiling again, it was becoming a seldom occurance until now.
