It's a path more difficult than anyone else should have taken.

But it's a path that Shen Yue chose because she was practical. Taking up Nursing as a pre-med course will also give her more exposure to work as a doctor compared to any other medical course.

Of course, she anticipated all of it. AND she will complain about it.

"I feel like my body is going to split into two very soon", she muttered on her already 19-hour running shift.

"If Dr. Yang doesn't show up today, I'm going to split my body into two", Li Jia Qi, added – making Yue think about the handsome Doctor assigned to their floor who they said goodbye to at the start of their shift.

"He might just be running late."

"As long as he's running back to me, I'll be ok."

That made Yue smile as she exited the Nurse's station to start her rounds.

Despite the heaters, the lack of sleep is making the cold from last night's snowstorm seep through her pores.

She tightened the sweater she wore around her and hoped their replacements can come soon.

Wang He Di made her promise they will be doing a marathon of Marvel movies this weekend and if she doesn't get to sleep anytime soon, she'd probably end up spending the whole weekend on her bed.

And her best friend's going to be "properly" disappointed.

Pursuing a degree in law as he does part-time work in a firm, he is just as busy as her and considers the exceedingly rare weekends they are both free as "ULTIMATE BONDING TIME".

One would think that growing up together and living together for almost all their lives would mean he would get tired of her, but Yue has not known a clingier person than her best friend.

She jokes about how she is tired of him, but the truth is, she is grateful to DiDi.

She was able to pursue Nursing and now save up for her dream of becoming a Doctor because he offered that they live together.

Of course, that entails that she looks after him – it's always been her role – but then again, he isn't as boisterous or even as much of a pain in the neck as he was before.

And with them having such busy lives, they have been talking more on wechat than in person.

They have not even seen each other in two weeks because he had to go on trips to other cities for the firm.

She wonders how he will feel going home and expecting her and not seeing her there at all.

Yue would probably hear an ear-load later.

Although... she looked down her watch.

It's weird he hasn't sent her a message yet.

He should have returned last night but then again... they had that freak snowstorm.
