- Some time around College -

The first time that Shen Yue was introduced to Wu Xi Ze, he thought she was Wang He Di's girlfriend and acted like so for almost a year.

He didn't know if he was an idiot or if Wang He Di was.

He and the other man have been friends since college and everyone in their circle (classmates and even some professors) had almost the same thought.

As the son of a famous Shipping Magnate, DiDi had a reputation that preceded him.

So to see a woman by his side that he doted on (and not even in a sister-like manner), it isn't a wonder they would arrive with the same conclusion.

Yue and Di were together every time he saw them outside of school, they even lived in the same condo unit.

How can everyone NOT misconstrue their relationship?

But more than them almost always being together, they act like a married couple already.

More than he could count with his fingers (including those on his feet), Xi Ze encountered Yue taking lunch to Di that he forgot, or Di would persuade him to hang out in the coffee shop right across the Nursing College building so he could wait for Yue and they could go home together.

He never saw them kiss BUT they hug and hold hands often enough for him to really think of the two of them as a couple.

The visit of one of their childhood friends, Li Xi Zi, disabused him of his belief.

"They're closer than ever", Xi Zi told him as they sat together, looking outside the coffee shop.

"And that's a good thing", he responded as he munched on a donut, with Wang He Di excusing himself to wait for Yue right outside the Nursing College building, umbrella in hand as rain came down harder.

The woman he waited for came out of the entrance and looked at DiDi with worry, probably asking him how long he's been waiting for her.

Their friend grinned, assuring her he did not wait long.

DiDi wrapped his arm around her as they prepared to go back to the coffee shop.

Xi Zi's face lit up. "Yue wouldn't even touch him in public before... but then again, they're far away from where we grew up now. Less eyes will see them and even less will think of teasing them."

That's a weird statement to make about a couple.

"People teased them?"

"Not to their faces, no. But some people back in our hometown often say Yue monopolizes DiDi."

He scoffed. "If they knew the truth, they'd say it's the other way around."

"Yeah. DiDi is way too clingy, I'm amazed Yue has not punched him for it yet."
