It was Alecs big one year anniversary ar the council tonight and they were going to throw a big party that Alec didn't want, Jace himself was very excited for itg as he had decided that he was going to propose to Clary tonight as well.

Alec though wasn't big on party's, on fact he despised them which was strange because his husband loved them.

Jace hung up a rather large banner saying happy one year anniversary! In the institute where they were throwing the party, Simon seemed to be blowing up balloons and Magnus well Jace wasn't quite sure what Magnus was doing he was just throwing glitter on everything.

"I'm out of balloons." Simon called up to Jace who was on a ladder.

"Call Izzy and tell her to buy some more oh and tell her to hurry up at the bakery the party's in less than an hour." Jace told him and Simon pulled out his phone.

"Magnus keep the glitter off the food." Jace warned.

"But, it's edible glitter." Magnus told him with a frown and Jace couldn't believe that he Jace Herondale was being the responsible one that was usually Alec or Clarys job, but with Clary painting a portrait for Alec and well Alec couldn't plan his own part as much as he'd like to, it was Jace's job today and he couldn't wait to tell Alec about how responsible he had been.

"Magnus I don't care we're not putting glitter on the food." Jace said firmly.

"Fine, then I'm going to call the petting zoo to bring some ducks over." Magnus said angrily.

"Magnus I will kill you." Jace told the glittery warlock who was really getting on Jace's nerves, he wanted this day to be perfect for Alec, Alec had planned almost every birthday party for Jace and Isabelle since they were fourteen and Jace loved every single one of them. Now Jace just wanted to do this one thing for Alec.

"You can't kill me I'm your parabatai's husband if I die a part of Alec dies as well and if a part of Alec dies a quarter of you dies." Magnus told him.

"I-Thats not how parabatai's work!" Jace shouted and almost fell off of the ladder.

"Guys can you not fight for just five minutes." Simon begged.

"Stay out of this, bloodsucker!" Jace warned.

"Really? I haven't been a vampire for years." Simon protested.

"It just sticks though." Magnus told him.

"Right? I mean what other nickname can we call you apart from bloodsucker or daylighter unless you want to go back to mundie." Said Jace agreeing with Magnus.

"I would rather none, can't you just call me Simon, or Si, like george used to?" Simon asked and began getting quitter when he spoke about George. Jace began to feel bad and didn't want to tease Simon right now while he was upset about George and obviously Magnus felt the same because he didn't say anything either they stood there in an awkward silence until Isabelle finally walked in breaking it.

"Hey, I got the cake some donuts even some fancy, little cupcakes and balloons." Isabelle told everyone placing everything on a table.

Simon walked towards the table sand vegan blowing up some more balloons.

"Magnus? Can you use your magic and mekr some lights or something from the roof." Isabelle asked.

Magnus began waving his hands making blue, purple, yellow and pink colours from the roof.

"How much longer do we have?" Simon asked his face red from blowing up balloons.

"Still another fifteen minutes." Isabelle told everyone. Jace looked around the room and decided that everything looked great. He climbed down the ladder and dragged it into the training room where he would put it away later.
