Malec one-shots

The Blackthorns

Alec sat on Magnus' sofa sipping his coffee. Jace, Simon and Izzy were in the kitchen making pancakes, because apparently they couldn't do that at the institute. And Clary was on the phone to her friend Emma beside him.

"How are Emma, Julian, and the rest of the Blackthorns?" Alec asked after Clary hung up. Clary and Emma had been good friends since the met at Idris two years ago. Clary was there at Emma and Julians parabatai ceremony along with Simon. They lived in the LA institute with their uncle Arthur, but Julian basically raised Ty, Livvy, Tavvy and Dru since his father has died in the dark war, his mother died when he was only little, his half sister Helen had been exiled and his half brother Mark had been taken away by the fey.

"I mean Emma's great, Julians under a lot of pressure with the kids and Arthur's not much help he mostly just stays in the attic." Clary explained. Alec felt bad. the Blackthorns and Lightwoods were good friends and Julians was only fourteen. "I mean you can always tell them that me and Alec can take the kids for a sleep over if they need a break." Magnus chirped in.

"That's really sweet Magnus are you sure you and Alec don't mind." Clary asked with a small smile. "Sure I love the kids." Alec told her and Magnus nodded in agreement. Clary opened her phone back up and began texting Julian.

The next morning Magnus had portaled to LA to get the Blackthorn children. While Julian and Emma took the day off. When Magnus came back holding a four year old Octavian in his arms while twelve Tiberius and Livis followed behind holding ten year old Drusilla's hand.

"Hello Ty." Alec said with a smile kneeling down as Livvy encouraged him to say hi back.

"Hey." Ty said shyly slightly waving his hand. "OK, so today is just going to be a day of fun, right? So what do you all want to do?" Magnus asked as Tavvy played with his lemur teddy.

"Can we fight demons?" Livvy asked with an exited smile. "Yes and we can investigation like Sherlock and Watson." Tiberius added.

Magnus gave Alec a concerned look. When he was a child he probably wanted to go out and play hide and seek or whatever kids do, but when shadowhunters were kids their favourite thing to do was kill demons or train." Or we could go to the mall and go shopping or get our nails painted or watch a film in the theatre, something like that." Magnus suggested the Blackthorns weren't as exited about that, but went
Along with it.

When they got to the mall, Tavvy, Ty and Livvy throw coins in the fountain while Dru had said that she'd rather die throw good money into water where she'd never get it back. As Tavvy, Ty and Dru threw coins in the fountain and made wishes Alec and Dru wandered around finally ending up in the middle of a store called penny's Alec couldn't tell if penny was the name of the owner or if it was because everything was so cheap it might as well cost penny's.

Alec saw Dru staring at a shirt and Alec picked it up. "Do you want it?" Alec asked and Dru nodded her head excitedly. Alec smiled and grabbed a size 10-11 and 11-12 for her to try on. They got to the changing room and Alec stood in . "Alec?" Alec heard his name and turned around to see a man with brown hair and green eyes looking at him.

"Charles?" Alec asked. Charles was a boy the same age as Alec who he'd grown up with they weren't too close just good friends until Charles turned sixteen and was transferred to Chicago. "What are you doing here? I thought you were in Chicago." Alec told him.

"I was, I just dropped by to visit, who was that? Your daughter?" Charles asked and Alec laughed, but didn't have time to answer because Dru came out with face all red she walked over Alec to whisper something to him. Alec bent down to make it easier for her." It's too tight. " she whispered to Alec her face still red with embarrassment. Alec looked at her with a small smile. "That's OK, I'll get you a hugger one sometimes clothes don't fit in my size either it's always wiser to go with the larger size." Alec reasured her and walked off to get her a size larger. Alec handed her the larger size and she went back in to try it on." Are you sure she's going to be able hunt demons? " Charles asked and Alec was confused.    "Yeah, why?" Alec asked he was puzzled by the question. Dru was a great shadowhunter. "It's just she-you know, um, bigger than other ten year old shadowhunters." Charles said and Alec raised an eyebrow as if daring Charles to keep talking. "I mean shadowhunters train and kill they're skinny and um, fit, she isn't exactly-" Alec had punched Charles' face and realised that Dru was standing at the stall door tears streaming down her cheeks.
