Family Dinner

"Are you sure they'll like me?" Tom asked.

"Dad likes nobody and bapak likes everybody." Max replied not very reassuringly.

Tom was Max's boyfriend and was going to Max's family dinner, Max's parents didn't know he had a boyfriend yet and this was supposed to be their chance to tell them, all Max's family already knew Max was pansexual, Max just didn't want to tell them that he was dating. Max said his family were nosy and would try and get into anybodys business especially his papak and uncle Jace.

"You know sometimes you don't help with my anxiety." Tom said with a frown.

But, Max just laughed and kissed him before knocking on the door of his house.

"Alexander, did a demon eat your keys again?" Somebody called from inside.

Demon? Tom was very confused a demon eating someone's keys that was ridiculous.

Max gave Tom a nervous side glance before calling back. "No bapak it's me Max, is dad not home yet?"

A tall man opened the door who Tom assumed was Max's brother, he only looked eighteen or so.

"You brought a friend." The Tom's assumed brother said raising his eyes brows up and down while smirking.

"Bapak this is Tom, Tom this is my bapak Magnus, is anyone else here yet?" Max asked nervously. Bapak? Did Max mean this was his father, he couldn't be if he was he would have had to have adopted Max when he was only nine.

"Yeah, Rafe and Jace are in the kitchen making dinner."

"Right." Max said and walked away Tom following him.

"What did he mean by demon eating his keys?" Tom asked.

"Oh, um, he probably meant dog." Max shrugged.

Tom not fully convinced nodded his head and kept quiet.

"We'll tell them at dinner, my aunt Clary and Izzy and uncle Simon aren't coming over tonight they're-" Max hesitated. "At work."

"Okay." Tom replied.

Max walked into the kitchen where a blonde boy laid on the table, yes you read that correctly the boy was on the table, their was a black Haired boy trying to get the Blonde off the table and Max's bapak, Magnus and a tall boy with dark skin making salad.

"Dad your home!" Max said bringing his father in for a hug.

Tom instantly realised that his father had strange tattoos all over his skin, an old fashioned leather jacket with dried blood on it and a bow hanging on his shoulder, Max noted that he should probably not get on Max's father's bad side.

"Dad this is Tom." Max said.

"Hello, Tom, I'm Alec." Max's father introduced himself.

The blonde boy rolled off the table and stood I'm front of Tom.

"I'm Jonathan Christopher Wayland Morganstern Lightwood Herondale, also known as Jace, the greatest human being on planet earth." The blonde boy told him.
