[Y/N's POV:]
"I'm gonna do it!" I say with a sparkle in my eyes. "I'm finally gonna tell my parents I'm Y/S!" I beamed. "Are you sure?" asked my sister, worriedly. "I just don't want you to get hurt," Mac added. "Don't worry sis, I'll be fine. I hope," I mumbled the last part. "I support you," she consoled. I gave a weak smile at her and took a deep breath. "Y/N! Heather! It's time for dinner!" our mother announced. I share the same fearful look with my older sister. "There's no turning back now."
We go downstairs and sit down next to each other. I look down at my lap and hardly touch my food. "Y/N, is anything wrong? You've hardly touched your food," my father asked. I looked at both of my parents. Mac gave me a look and the corners of her mouth curled up a bit, showing a slight smile. I smiled back and took a shaky breath. "I guess I'm just scared that you guys might not accept me," I confessed, rubbing the back of my neck. My parents looked at each other confused. "I'm Y/S," I awkwardly smiled.
My parents were speechless and stared at me as if I was from another planet. "What did you say?" "I'm Y/S," I repeated. "No daughter of mine is Y/S," father bellowed. "You're too young to know what you want." "But I do know! I know what I want!" I cried out. "This has to be some sick joke right now, right?" mother asked. "No, it isn't," my sister spoke up.
My parents turned to look at her. I shook my head, worried that Mac might get punished. She just gave me a weak smile that I didn't return. I pulled her arm so that she sat down and whispered furiously into her ear, "What are you doing?! You might get hurt!" "You might get hurt!" Mac argued. "Enough," father growled. "Is this true?" he demanded. "Yes," I said meekly. Silence flooded the dining room. "Get out of my house." I looked at him, surprised. "W-What?" I asked. "I said, get out of my house," he fumed.
"That's not fair! She's one of your daughters!" Mac argued. "Mac stop," I hissed, not wanting for Mac to get kicked out herself. "She's not part of our family anymore. Being Y/S is a sin. She's a dyke." "She is not a dyke!" Mac snapped. "Do you want to join Y/N out in the streets?" I shook my head furiously, trying to convince her to stop. She only continued. "I'd rather do that than stay with my asshole parents," Mac growled, going to her bedroom to pack. I quickly followed her, not wanting to be upbraided by my parents.
I quickly packed a few of my favorite things along with some clothes and shoes. I brought my pillow along with some pictures of me and my friends. I touched the warm necklace resting on my chest and removed it. It was given to me as a present by my parents. "I'm not part of the family anymore, right?" I mumbled. I set it down in the middle of my desk and walked out at the same time Mac did. "You didn't have to do this," I mentioned to my sister. "You deserve better, and I wanna be there with you to support you," Mac beamed as if we weren't being kicked out by my parents.
"Thank you," I whispered as we went down the stairs of the big house. We both walked to the door where our ex-parents stood. "Do you really wanna stay with this dyke? We can give you so much more," my birth-giver pleaded for Mac to stay. Of course, she was always the favorite because she was older. I didn't care, at least Mac was nice to me. "I'm sure," Mac said confidently. "Get out," said my father- I mean, the other person. "Gladly," I said, flipping them off. We both ran away before they could do anything and laughed even though we didn't have a home anymore.
"Where do we go now?" Mac asked. "I have an idea," I said, taking her hand and running to my secret girlfriend's place. "Where are we going?" Mac asked above the click-clacking of her heels. I have no fucking idea how she runs in those, but it is what it is. "My girlfriend's place," I explain, feeling a bit better because my sister was with me. "YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" "Shh," I try to calm down my sister. "Sorry, but you have a girlfriend?" "Yes," I giggled, forgetting what had happened only a few minutes ago.
"Who's the lucky girl?" Mac teased. "Ronnie," I puffed my chest. "You always liked the color blue," she laughed. "Hey!" I playfully slapped her arm. We ran for several minutes until we arrived at Ronnie's home. I knocked on the door and Ronnie's parents answered. "Hi, Y/N! What are you doing here this late?" "Hi, Mrs. Sawyer. I came to see my girlfriend." "Of course. Veronica! Come down here! Your girlfriend's here!" Mac looked at me with wide eyes.
"They knew?!" she whispered furiously in my ear. "Yeah." Mac scoffed and pouted. "Aww, did I hurt your fweelings?" I teased, "Shut up," Mac huffed. I giggled and hugged her. "Hey, Y/N. What's with the suitcases? And why is your sister here?" asked Veronica. "We got kicked out after I came out to my parents," I explain. "You can stay at our place!" Mr. Sawyer yelled from the kitchen. "Thank you, Mr. Sawyer!" "Here, come on. I'll show you guys your room." Ronnie led us to the guest room and we unpacked. "Thanks, Ronnie," I kissed her cheek. "Anything for my girlfriend and her sister," Ronnie kissed my nose. I giggled and continued packing. "I'm kinda tired, I'm gonna get some sleep," I announced after I took a short shower.
"Okay, I'm just gonna talk to your girlfriend for a sec," Mac said, walking out of our shared room. I was curious so I decided to follow her. "Don't hurt her, okay? Or else I will kill you," I heard Mac threaten Ronnie. "Don't worry. I love her too much to let her go," Ronnie said confidently. "Good." I ran to Ronnie and kissed her passionately, ignoring my shocked sister. "Were you listening to our conversation?" she asked. "Yup," I smiled. I put my head on Ronnie's shoulder and said the four words I've wanted to say ever since the start of our relationship. "I love you too." We kissed again and stopped when Mac scoffed.
I rolled my eyes and pushed her lightly. "I love you too, Mac," I rolled my eyes playfully. "Now, if you'll excuse us, we're gonna have our own talk," I said suggestively, tracing my finger on Ronnie's lips. "Y-Yeah, see you tomorrow," Ronnie blushed, closing the door. "She's a pretty good sister, huh," Ronnie mentioned. "Yeah, she really is," I agreed. "Now, why don't we get on with that 'talk' you were meaning to have," she smirked. "I'd love to."
A/N: This was originally gonna be a Veronica X Reader, but then it became a oneshot about Mac being a supporting sister. I came out to my parents a while ago and I'm grateful to have supportive parents. I know that some people aren't that lucky, so I'm here if you need anyone to talk to. Thank you guys for 1.5K reads!
