Author's Note
Hi! I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to @RoseAngel6 for always showing love! I really appreciate it 😊

Mehwish's P.O.V.
I flipped my phone over. I didn't want to see his notifications anymore. What was he calling and texting me for?
"You've hardly touched your food, Mehwish."
I glanced down at my paratha and egg.
"Oh, I-I was just thinking of work, Ma." I made up.
"Speaking of work, I almost forgot to tell you! Zahid came last night. He wanted to talk to you."
"Oh really? What did he say?" I pretended as if I didn't know.
"He didn't say, but I assume it was work-related. After you finish eating, give him a call."
I'll pass. Thanks, Ma.
Ma took a sip of her tea and continued, "Also, while you were on your trip, the police called. They are still trying to find the drunk driver who caused your accident."
"I can't believe it's taking so long. It's been over half a year at this point."
"I know, beta. You have no idea how badly I want that person to be caught. It's because of them that you lost your memory and broke your arm. Ugh, I will never forget the sight of you on that hospital bed. It was a nightmare for me."
Which reminded me, I still didn't tell her that I have my memory back. Maybe it'll be best to tell her when I deliver the news about Javed and I. She would have to wait a little longer though. I don't have it in me to have that conversation right now.
I placed my hand on hers, "Alhamdulillah, I'm fine, I'm here."
She smiled, "Alhamdulillah," she proceeded to look at the clock, "Oh, I should start getting ready for work!"
I reassured her that I could wash the dishes and that she should go.
Later that afternoon, the doorbell rang. I knew it was going to be him.
"Mehwish, I know you're there. Please open the door."
I was tired of getting my hopes up and having them crash back down, breaking into a million pieces as if they were made of glass. I was tired of my emotions hurting me, of confusion, of what felt like games.
"Mehwish, please. It's important. Can we talk? Please?"
No.
"Please?"
Don't you have a girlfriend to tend to because of whom I was your rebound? Or Meetings to attend? Friends to hang out with?
"I won't leave until you speak to me."
Yeah right. Stay there then.
I went to my room and tried taking a nap.
Javed's P.O.V.
I opened the door to the rooftop.
"Shehzad?"
"Hi Abbajaan."
He was sitting on the couch, holding a picture of Ami, "Come here, beta."
I joined him and he wrapped an arm around me.
He grinned, "I was just telling your mom about how much you've helped me out at the office recently."
I looked at the ground and chuckled.
