Zahid's P.O.V.

The following evening, I took a shower and got ready. I was going to tell Mehwish how I felt about her. I couldn't keep it to myself any longer. I didn't know how or what I was going to say, I just knew I had to tell her.

On the way to the car, I passed Javed's room. I peeked my head in to say that I'd be back in a bit, but I was surprised to find him praying namaz. He often skipped out on praying and wouldn't pray unless someone reminded him to. I closed his door then drove to a florist. After buying a bouquet of roses, I arrived to Mehwish's house.

As I got closer to her driveway, I could see her standing with a man.

Mehwish's P.O.V.

I had just come home from picking up a few groceries and some flowers for my mother's vase. As I walked up my driveway, I could hear approaching footsteps. I dropped the bag of groceries upon turning around and seeing a vaguely familiar face.

"Hey!"

"Murad?" I asked with a confused expression.

"I know this is weird, but I finally got the time to come by and drop this," my lost anklet dangled from his hand.

I looked down at my other anklet, forgetting that the other one was even missing.

An uneasy smile came on to my face. He took all this trouble just to return my anklet? After all these months? How did he even know where I live?

"That night when we danced at Sahir's house, I found this on the ground. I tried looking for you, but then someone told me you had left. I asked Javed where you live. He said he was going to let you know that I'd swing by. It looks quite expensive. I didn't think you'd want to lose it."

"Oh, thanks." I muttered wearily.

"Here, let me." He stepped forward then crouched down to clasp it around my ankle.

I took a step back, "No, no. It's o-"

Right then, I heard a car roar before zooming by. I looked up and caught a glimpse of Zahid. Why did he-

After glancing back down, I assessed the whole situation. I was holding flowers in my hands with this guy crouching down in front of me.

No, Zahid! It's not what it looks like!

Zahid made a U-turn, passing by my house again, making me rush to the end of the driveway.

 Murad stood up.

I called after Zahid, but he drove past.

Murad walked up beside me, "Was that Zahid?"

I nodded, upset.

"What was he doing here?"

"I don't know!" I exclaimed.

I then snatched the anklet from Murad's hand, "I think you should go. Thanks again."

I quickly collected my belongings and rushed inside my house before locking the doors.

Zahid wasn't answering my calls. They eventually started going directly to voicemail.

Zahid's P.O.V.

"Bro, for starters, I can't believe you just admitted to me that you're in love with Mehwish, and secondly, it's probably all a misunderstanding." Farhan spoke through my airpods as I worked out, "Just talk to her. That's the only way you can sort things out. Talk to her and...... let me sleep!"

"Sorry for calling you so late." It was almost 2 in the morning.

I hung up the phone soon after I kept repeating Farhan's name only to hear him snoring.
