Mehwish's P.O.V.

After washing up, I got into bed and sent Ma a text about my day and that I'd be going to sleep soon. She replied, asking me to send her pictures from the places we visited. As I swiped through the photos, I got to the ones that I took of Zahid near the Big Ben. Honestly, if looks could kill, I would be dead...

Mehwish, no!

I continued swiping but stopped when our selfies from earlier popped onto the screen. Along with both of us smiling at the camera, he had captured a selfie of me looking at him. My thumb ran over his face slowly. Had things been different, our trip could've had a totally different purpose. Maybe we would've been visiting London for our honeymoon. I would've been introduced to Nikita Khala as Zahid's wife.

I dozed off whilst imagining that alternate universe.

After I got up, I went to the living room to find Bernard icing a chocolate cake.

"Good morning, Bernard. What's the occasion?"

"Good morning, ma'am. Zahid sir was saying it's for your guest's early birthday celebration."

"Where is Zahid?"

"He's in the backyard."

I made my way to the backyard to find Zahid watering the garden with a hose.

"Hey."

"Oh, hey. Good morning." He grinned.

I held my sweater tighter to myself. It was quite cold.

"What are you up to?"

"Just watering the flowers and vegetables. I gave the gardener the day off... I don't really get to do this back home so I thought, 'Why not?'"

I walked closer to him, "Can I try?

He handed me the hose before bending down to pull some weeds from the grass.

The water wasn't spraying with as much force as it was when Zahid was doing it. I turned towards him and put a finger on the mouth of the hose, "Why isn-"

The water began spraying in a wide range, drenching his back.

He immediately stood up and faced me.

I began apologizing instantaneously, "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorr-"

He took the hose from me.

"It's okay." He said kindly, but then, without looking at me, he tilted the hose in my direction to soak me.

My eyes grew large, "Zahid!"

He began laughing and I took the opportunity to snatch the hose back and spray him again. He began running and I chased him around the backyard with the hose. I was able to catch up closer to him so I wrapped an arm around his chest from behind him and began showering the water on his head. I giggled as I flattened his hair.

He grabbed the hose from me and began spraying my face when we heard someone laugh, "Seems like you two are having fun."

It was Faris and Zoya. They were holding plastic bags.

"Hey." Zahid said as we froze in our spots.

Zoya lifted the bag in her hand, "Ma wanted us to surprise you guys with some breakfast, that's why we came early."

I mumbled, "Oh, uh, that's, um, so sweet of Khala."

Zahid and I began shivering slightly.

I added awkwardly, "I'll go change," and quickly walked pass them all.
