Mehwish's P.O.V.

I stood in my driveway, sporting curled locks and a long black dress.

Zahid pulled up right at 5, on the dot.

When I got in the car and put my seatbelt on, I saw he was wearing a black dress shirt and dark grey plaid pants, with his hair styled back. He looked like a model.

After I swallowed the lump of air stuck in my throat, I spoke sheepishly, "Hi... Thanks again for the ride."

He curled his lips inward, giving me a nod.

This was going to be a long and awkward car ride.

I watched him through the reflection on the window. His shirt fit him like a glove, I could see his strong biceps.

I tried to ease the awkwardness, "I think I met Mahira Apa once when I was little."

"Oh," Zahid uttered as he kept his eyes on the road.

Oh? That's all? Just, "Oh." Ugh! This man doesn't know how to keep up a conversation to save his life!

I continued slowly, "I think we also met too, when we were younger... Ma was saying you and Javed attended one of my birthday parties when Aunty was still around..."

He didn't say anything.

His car smelled just like his cologne. I could get used to smelling i- what? What was I saying? Why would I get used to smelling it? I squinted my eyes and began mumbling, "Why would I want to smell it and remind myself of Mr. Handsome Arrogant?"

"What?" he questioned, looking at me through the rear-view mirror.

"Nothing, nothing" I smiled at him quickly before looking back out the window.

"You have a sister, right?" I probed, turning my head towards him.

"Yeah, Ayaara."

"Oh, nice. How old is she?"

"Sixteen. She'll be there tonight. Do, you, uh, have any siblings?"

Wow, he was actually showing some interest.

"No, it's just me and my mom at home."

We pulled onto a driveway that already had several cars parked on it.

Zahid got out of the car and opened my door as I was fixing my dress and purse. I couldn't help but smile to myself. I then quickly made my face normal before Zahid saw.

He led me to the main door. An elderly woman opened it and engulfed Zahid in a hug, "Zahid beta, I've been waiting for you for so long, jaan. You've forgotten all about your Nani, huh?"

Zahid pulled away and kissed her head, "No, Nani. Classes have just started and there's a lot of stuff at work."

"Oh, I see I see. Who is this?" she smiled at me sweetly.

As Zahid turned to look at me, an arm suddenly pulled me further into the house full of guests.

"Hey! Farhan told me you would be coming! Looking gorgeous by the way!"

A smiled reached my lips as I met eyes with Javed and raised my eyebrows, "Thank you, looking smart yourself."

He popped the collar of his shirt, "That I always do, madam," he continued, "Let me introduce you to everyone."
