Sanam's P.O.V.

My eyebrows furrowed as I came back to my senses.

I began, "I'm not Mehwi-"

He reached into his pocket and took out a fist. He unclenched his hand except for two fingers, dangling my silver charm bracelet by the ring.

My eyes widened while my mouth fell open, unable to get out a sound.

Zahid's P.O.V.

I was having virtual meetings earlier this morning at home. Farhan and Amal joined the meeting from their home too.

I couldn't focus on what any of the agents were saying, all I could think about was what happened to Sanam. She was a mystery herself.

We wrapped up the meeting and I went to my room to pray Zuhr. After I finished, I sat there making dua for things to become easier, for Mehwish and I to be reunited however that may be, for whatever's bothering Sanam to stop and that she finds relief. I couldn't understand. Why had she been acting distant these past several weeks? What had happened? Why did she resign? How did she get those marks? Who was she talking to that she complied going with them, leaving her bracelet behind?

Wait.

The bracelet.

I concluded my supplication and found my pants from yesterday. I reached into the pocket, took out the charm bracelet, and sat down.

Yes, it was a nice bracelet, but I wonder what made it so special to Sanam.

I rotated it slowly in my hand, inspecting it carefully.

There were several big shiny charms hanging from silver loops. Some of them had diamonds, while others were different silver shapes and objects covered in Swarovski crystals like a rose, a heart, and a sphere. I began going through each one pondering what significance this bracelet could possibly hold. It looked expensive but Sanam didn't strike me as someone who prioritized things for its monetary value over its sentimental value. Could it be a family heirloom? Maybe her mother's?

Suddenly, I froze.

One of the charms looked extremely familiar. It's loop was thicker than the rest and so was its diamond. It also had a few smaller diamonds stretching across on the sides of the large diamond in the middle.

My heartbeat sped up.

It looked like Mehwish's engagement ring.

It was lost with her.

With my now shaky hand, I twisted it to see the inside.

I was afraid of it not being there.

But it was.

"M∞Z"

Mehwish.

The bracelet became blurry in my eyes as tears welled in them.

I was right.

Sanam is my Mehwish.

My jaan.

My love.

My Mehwish.

I knew she wouldn't leave me.

She promised! She didn't break it! She wouldn't have!

A smile glued on to my face as I shot up to drive to her.

She stared at me with an open mouth while I showed her the charm bracelet.
