Past Trauma

Kanashi was unable to sleep that night, so angry at Kusata. He kept remembering the scene that happened few hours ago. There were so many thoughts, He was resisting himself but then he felt it even more.

"What's happening, I don't care about her... Aahh Whyy?" Kanashi was so restless and feeling agitated.

Unable to sleep, he went outside and started to walk to calm himself. While resisting all this, suddenly a face from past flashed in his memory. It made him lose his balance, he stumbled and fell on the ground.

"Now why THIS...? WHY can't I stop my mind from thinking?" Kanashi was in tears now. He felt hopeless.

He remembered how she asked Kanashi to smile but he did not. The girl knew he could not resist her smile so she giggled, with all her pain to cheer him up and... He was just a emotionless statue. He could not forgive himself for that and that last cute giggle haunted him for years.

The trauma broke him before but somehow he was able to compose him with so much difficulty. And today, all this thinking and anger threw him into that hell again. Thoughts of losing Haru, even a little made him so anxious that he was reminded of everything dark happened in his life.

Next day in University, both Jay and Kai were worried to see Kanashi with swollen red eyes. It was clear something was off.

"Hey is everything alright bud?" Jay asked with concern.

"I'm fine. " Kanashi replied in hollow voice. He was not even near to fine, Jay was going to say something when Kanashi saw Haru coming there and he left telling them, "I am going to complete my assignment."

Haru saw him leaving and asked Jay and Kai if something bad happened and they both called it a fever. Feeling more guilty about yesterday, she was worried about him but kept quiet before them. Later when she tried to talk to Kanashi, he simply ignored her, even went back home early.

Kusata was still following Haru whole day, completely unbothered by annoyance of Haru. Rather he was enjoying the situation. She couldn't ignore him for many days because he again threatened her of telling the teachers about not helping in studies. She had no choice. All Kusata did was waste her time, not studying a thing.

Kanashi was absent from University during next days after the incident. Haru called Kanashi but he switched off the phone. Jay and Kai went to his house daily to talk with him and understand the reality but his health was no good. He was burning in fever. He was back to that condition which happened years ago.
