New turn

Kusata never came infront of Haru after that incident in class. Everything was going smoothly until one day when she saw Kusata outside of University, scolded by a lady.

Kusata was just standing there, with lowered eyes. The woman who was scolding him started to beat him a little with hands, not like Kusata was affected and after she was tired she just left without saying anything. Kusata was also quiet, he did not even try to stop her once.

After the lady was gone, Kusata adjusted the bad on his shoulder and left like nothing happened.

Haru was not type of person to stand and watch like a jugglers. But it was all so sudden and unexpected that she could not move a bit from there.

After they both left, she was also going to leave but she saw something shiny on floor. Looking closely, she found out it was a gold bracelet, most likely of the lady who was beating Kusata earlier.

Haru immediately picked it up and ran after the lady. Luckily she caught up to the lady in few minutes and returned the bracelet. Lady was so thankful to Haru and asked her to join for coffee.

While waiting for coffee, Haru asked if that boy was her son who was studying at the University. To Haru's surprise, the lady was so worried to hear this, she looked pale.

"Ummm I also study there and I know him a little," Haru said in a hurry to not make her feel bad and continued with soft voice, " I'm sorry to ask but may I help if there is some problem with your son?"

Haru said pure heatedly but later realized what unethical thing she did and now this nonsense talk, she felt embarrassed and was going to apologise but the lady said,
"Really!! Will you really help me in this matter?"

"It must have been hard for her," Haru thought to herself while looking at teary eyed lady and it ripped her heart.

"You don't know me much, will you listen to my past first?" Lady asked with eyes full of hope.
"Off course," Haru said and called Ba-chan to tell her that she would be late that day.
