Flashback

Cold breeze of February with a little warmth of sun rays made it perfect day for everyone but he was especially happy. Jay was ready that day.

That was his first day at school, thinking of all the adventures and thrill of making new friends made him feel excited. He came with his parents but wasn't crying like most of the kids.

Though he felt a little scared of what was going to happen next, when his parents left him at school. He was wandering through school when he reached at playground. There were so many students playing around and some enjoying the various swings.

"Ohh~ so some of you won against me, I need to hurry," He thought to himself as he imagined himself to be left out of friend making process. He was preoccupied in his thoughts and suddenly saw something. This sight made his heart ached, such a dangerous thing to see in the morning.

There was a little kid READING a book, sitting on bench near playground. His hero spirit was awakened, considering, "Why is a kid, of my age studying at this hour? " Jay ran to that spot and called out to him, but he was completely ignored.

He sat beside him but that kid still didn't notice him or was just ignoring on purpose.

"Trying to be a tough one huh, You book worm," he named him. But he was Jay, how could he accept the defeat.

"HEYY!" Jay shouted, he was so ready to get his attention. "What's wrong with you?" Book worm was angry at this behaviour.
"WHAT is wrong with ME?" Jay replied with a question. Bookworm was completely shocked, not knowing what and why was all this happening, he found benefit in keeping quiet.

"Why are you reading now? Particularly when its just your first day," Jay talked like it was such an impossible thing.
"Because I love reading," Bookworm replied with a straight face.

Jay was disappointed, but it was also his duty to save him so he started the conversation, "I'm Jay, what's your name? Your hobbies, tell me everything."

That bookworm told his name as Kanashi and his hobby was (obviously) book reading.
After that, it was just Jay who talked about lots of stuff and Bookworm (I mean Kanashi) just stayed there with a blank face but listened to him carefully. It continued until school bell rang.

In the class, they were all sitting around the table when some kid nudged Jay to ask for extra stationery as that kid lost his own, while playing earlier.

Jay, who came ready to make new friends, had brought extra stationery as well.
During break time, Jay was with Kanashi and new kid who introduced himself as Kai.
They talked and talked. Jay and Kai also shared lots of information about games and anime but to their surprise Kanashi knew about anime too. "Haha you are not as boring as you look," Jay said with a big smile. Kanashi just smiled.

(That was their first day to meet each other and now they were going to University, together. They were so happy to always have each other, in every situation.)
