A soft wind moaned overhead and swirled frosted air into the blackened night sky. Feathers of a similar hue rustle as a shadowed creature took flight high into the stars. Swooping down into a graceful landing, the evil twin demon itself touches down on a rooftop across the street from the campus diner. The massive pair of wings shrink away from existence and the black knee-length trench coat the demon wore flays out as it stepped purposefully towards the ledge.

"Hmm.." it sighs as it scans the empty parking lot. It then glances at it's watch.

Just as it lifts its gaze from the timepiece, vermillion irises glint and widen with interest as two sets of headlights beam in the direction of the diner. The sight inspires an elated grin from the demon to spread across it's vessel replicated features. Giant black wings reemerge and with very little effort, the demon is shooting back up into the sky as the cars parked.

"It's so dark...Are you sure they're even in there?" Jia asks as she and Junseo emerge from the front seat of his car. Taehyung hops out of the backseat. He glances behind their car to spot Mae and Jungkook rounding the hood of his truck. They seem to have been engaged in a heated conversation, both of their expressions hardened with furrowed brows. Neither of them seemed angry though and Taehyung feels a sharp pang of jealousy when he sees Jungkooks hand snake around her waist to guide her forward.

As the two approached the other car, Taehyung turns his back to them and lets out a shaky sigh.

"Looks can be deceiving..." Junseo responds to Jia as they joined Taehyung where he leaned against the car, his wary eyes now fixed on the dark windows.

A chill runs over his skin as the spreading mark pulsed at a dangerous rhythm in response to his quickening heartbeat.

"It's close...I can feel it.." Taehyung murmurs. He rolls his shoulder in response to the mark and Jia steps closer to him to grab ahold of his trembling hand.

"Then it's definitely here. The mark is a living symbol of the bond you and the demon share. So if you can sense it's presence...It knows you're close too." Junseo says as he scanned the surrounding streets and buildings with his hand reaching beneath his coat.

"Well, that's fucking creepy.." Jungkook lifts his shoulders as a shiver overcame his body. He too scans the parking lot suspiciously as Junseo grasps the handle of the onyx blade. Taehyung snorts in agreement reluctantly at Jungkooks comment and lets out a deep exhale shakily. He squeezes his sister's hand unintentionally and Jia looks up to see his worried expression.

"Hey...We've got you. We're gonna do this together..ok?" she tilts her head to earn his attention. Taehyung clenches his jaw at the endearment in his sister's eyes. The bravery. Similar to the look he had the chance to see for himself in his father's eyes seconds before he sacrificed himself.

He wished it were as easy for him to know that type of bravery. Especially in the face of something so undetermined and dangerous.

Before leaving Mae's apartment, Junseo shared the plan with everyone. They all knew the demon's name and they knew about the power of the blade if any of them would be in the position to make the move. But there was one major catch.

There was only one knife in their possession.

One knife meant one shot.

One chance to end the danger for good.

Taehyung knew the stakes when Junseo explained the dangers of the plan. If he stabbed the demon before it reentered his body, then only it would be trapped inside of the onyx. But if he didn't, and the only option was to stab himself...
