Freezing winds knocked the breath from Jimin's chest as massive black wings swooped and glided through the night air.

Everything happened so fast.

One moment, the lights in the parking lot flickered, Jimin's hands trembled violently as who he believed to be Taehyung backed him into the metal doors of the elevator. His sinister and inhuman grin pinning him until everything went black.

Then the next second, Jimin's arms and legs were flailing as the demon held him by the collar of his jacket as it flexed its shoulder blades and flapped until the Seoul city skyline was miles beneath them.

The stars twinkled brighter than ever around them and the moon lit their ascension as the demon took them higher and higher into the clouds.

Jimin never stopped screaming, his voice completely hoarse as his body finally allowed him to take in the cold air, the pressure burning his billowing lungs.

"No!!! Down!!! Put me down!!!" He cried out as the demon stalled its climb, grunting as its eyes searched the ground distractedly, weighing its options.

"Down?" it murmurs with amusement lacing its tone. The strength of its wings sent gusts of cold air into Jimin's face as it hovered over the campus, stinging the boy's eyes with icy tears.

"Careful what you ask for..." it sneered, although it was sure Jimin heard nothing but his screams at this point.

The demon pouts.

It could kill him. Fly up as high as it could before the atmosphere froze him and drop him to watch his body smack against the concrete from above.

Could be amusing enough.

Or perhaps it could take Jimin even higher until his ears popped and lungs constricted due to the low oxygen. Watch the color drain from his face as his veins filled with ice and let him float away.

That would be amusing.

The demon glanced above them at the oblivion that laid ahead and sighed as reality crept in.

It already feels its strength beginning to wain. The longer it was away from its vessel and the longer it went without the portal, the weaker it would become until it was forced to retreat. And the stubborn nature of the creature would rather find solace in the familiarity of its native realm than to be trapped in that famished mortal's body another second.

"Please!!! PLEASE DONT KILL ME!! PLEASE!!"

Jimin continued to scream, breaking the demon from its thoughts long enough to remember that he was conspicuously dangling from the sky with a noisy hostage. A very noisy hostage.

It rolls its eyes as it scanned the terrain and spots the roof of the building they'd just been, pulling Jimin close to its clothed chest and tucking its wings so the two could plummet from the blackened heavens.

The scream that left the young man then was almost comical and Jimin has a sudden rush of deja vu from the day he and Taehyung were jumping from the plane, strapped to the trained skydivers with his go-pro in hand.

That same sinking feeling as his body came closer to the earth turned his stomach, his heart pumping with a fearful sting of adrenaline that deeply contrasted the feeling of joy and excitement he had the last time he was in this position.

Before everything got so weird and his best friend was himself.

How strange it was that a month felt like millennia ago.

Jimin's body hits the cold concreted roof of the dorm building a few seconds later and he yelps at the cracking impact. He rolls and lands on his side against the ledge, heaving a shuddered breath from his chest.
