The next day Maddie woke up super early and got ready. An hour later she drove to school with Eli. Demetri's mom was back in town so his mom was gonna take him to school.
Maddie walked in and spotted Demetri and Miguel talking and ran up to them "yeah, but you can't quit"
"Quit what?" Maddie asked joining their conversation.
They turned to look at her "oh hi Adi and Demetri quit Cobra Kai"
Maddie didn't look surprised because she already knew. "Oh yeah"
"I got yelled at, got my ass kicked, and then gave him my money. You know who lives like that? Hookers" Demetri told Miguel.
She snorted and rolled her eyes at him.
Miguel rolled his eyes "yeah, but he's not that bad of a guy. You gotta give him a chance"
"Mickey's right I mean when I met him he was kind of nice? He thought me and Miguel were dating! But I mean he was nice to me"
"Yeah, Maddie's right! You don't know him like I do"
Demetri scoffed and shook his head "that-that's hooker talk. Besides, I don't need to learn karate when I have you" he nodded towards someone.
Maddie and Miguel turned to look in the direction Demetri pointed at and spotted Kyler.
She sighed. Miguel noticed and turned to look at her "he's not gonna hurt you. I made sure I made that clear"
"Thank you, Miguel"
Kyler spotted them and turned around walking away "see? No one's gonna mess with you"

It was now lunch. Eli and Maddie were sitting at their usual table waiting for Demetri and Miguel.
"I'm telling him today"
Eli turned to look at his sister with his eyes wide in shock "what?"
"I'm gonna tell him. After dropping you off in karate. I have everything planned but I'm kind of nervous" she said.
"Don't be so nervous. I mean you're both so stup- never mind just don't be nervous okay sissy?"
She nodded "all right, E. Anyway do you have a crush on anyone? You haven't told me"
Eli blushed and looked down "maybe..."
Maddie gasped "oh my god! Eli why you've never told me about it?"
"You never ask? And I have a tiny crush on Liv"
Her eyes widened "Liv? Like my best friend? Olivia Heart?"
Eli nodded slowly blushing "yeah but don't tell her. She would never like me"
"I mean...you never know"

After school, Maddie drove Eli to the Cobra Kai dojo.
Maddie had a plan. She was going to invite Dem over to watch a Harry Potter marathon then she was going to make her 'move'.
"Hey Dem why don't you come over? We can watch Harry Potter"
Demetri smiled and nodded "yeah that sounds great I'm in"
"All right" Maddie smiled and drove over to her house.
No one was home so it was just the two of them. They walked downstairs to the basement.
"Want anything to eat, Dem?"
He shook his head and sat down "no thanks, Mads"
She nodded clicked play and sat down next to him.
A few minutes into the film Maddie started playing with her fingers nervously which Demetri noticed.
He paused the movie and turned to look at her "what's wrong?"
She avoided his gaze "what?"
Demetri sighed "look at me, Mads. Tell me what's wrong? Can I help with anything?"
Maddie sighed and turned to look at him. She loved his eyes. She thought they were beautiful.
Maddie also thought you could read a person just by looking into their eyes.
She loved his lips. Red plump lips. Very beautiful and kissable.
He noticed her eyes moved from his eyes to his lips which made him a million times nervous.
"I- um- i...ugh fuck it" she stutters but gave up at the end leaning in and closing the gap between them connecting her lips with his.
Seconds later he kissed back. It wasn't for long but the kiss was full of desire and passion.
Before she could grab the back of his neck to pull him closer he broke the kiss.
"What happened? Why did you pull away?" Maddie asked confused.
"I'm sorry, Madison"
"Why are you sorry?"
"Because this can't happen. I don't want to drag you down to loser town with me. You're so beautiful and adorable and probably the love of my life that's why I'm doing this-"
Maddie stood up and shook her head "Who the hell do you think you are?! You don't get to decide that for me! I am my own person to make my own decisions Demetri!"
"It's for your own good. I don't want you getting bullied, Ma-" Demetri said standing up but he got cut off by Maddie.
"What the fuck? Do I look like I give a fuck of what people say about me? No, I don't care! But guess what yes I fell in love with you and it's not like I can just delete my feelings"
Demetri sighed wanting to give in and tell her he felt the same way and kiss her forever but he couldn't.
"I'm sorry. I can't."
Those were the last words Demetri said to her before running upstairs and leaving the house with tears coming out of his eyes.
Maddie was shocked. Tears started coming out of her eyes "what the fuck?"
Her phone started ringing. It was Eli. She picked up.
"Eli? Are you okay?" She said pretending she was okay.
"Can you come pick me up? I need you to take me somewhere" he said but he recognized his voice.
"Eli, are you crying? What happened?"
"Just please come pick me up I will explain when you get here"
"Okay, I will be there in a few. Bye E" she ended the call and left her house.
A few minutes later she got to the dojo and saw Eli. He looked like nothing happened.
He got in the car "Eli? Are you okay?"
"Yeah I just need you to take me here" he showed an address on his phone.
