"Wait so how did this happen?"
Maddie sighed and smiled "well like Eli or I guess Hawk now- I 'flipped the script'? Whatever that means...I just had my heart broken and got a makeover to distract myself"
Miguel nodded his head slowly "I'm sorry again for...what happened. Also, I'm curious do you have a different name? By the way love the blonde fits you but i miss your red long hair"
"It's fine. I mean I'm not okay I've been listening to Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish since it happened but ugh it's his loss and no? I don't have a different name. I guess I just went with it because like I said I needed a distraction...i guess i can tell you its not my hair- its a wig"
Miguel smiled and nodded "wait, what? A wig? It doesn't look like a wig-"
Maddie chuckled "thats the point mickey. I was going to dye my hair but I couldn't. I love my red hair so this is just for fun! And i did my makeup differently thats it"
Miguel nodded "yeah i got it. You look great!"
"Anyway when your date with sam?"
"Today. I'm nervous"
Maddie grinned "where are you taking her?"
"The arcade. Sensei's suggestion"
"Of course he did. But yeah I mean the arcade is fun" she said.
Before Miguel could say something someone called her name "Maddie?"
He turned around to see Adrian Davis. Alice twin brother.
"Hi, Adrian! Long time no see"
He smiled and nodded "yeah. You look very different"
"Is that a good thing or?"
Adrian grinned "it's a good thing. You look beautiful, Maddie. Anyway, I've to go but we should hang out sometime? My band is playing tomorrow at the local cafe...you should come?"
Maddie smiled "oh my god yeah I would love to! Thank you, Adrian"
He winked at Maddie before leaving which made her blush. She turned to look at Miguel who had a huge smirk plastered on his face.
"What?" Maddie asked confused.
"A distraction, huh?"
She rolled her eyes and smiled "shut up"

"What's up little sis"
She snorted "dude I'm older than you and I'm meh not feeling good but I'm gonna be okay"
Eli paused the video game and turned to look at his sister "did something happen? You didn't tell me yesterday"
