"So tell me about yourself, Miguel Diaz"
"Well I'm 16 I recently moved here and I'm training Karate-" he started but she cut him off.
"Wait Karate? Oh my god where? I've been looking for self-defense classes but I couldn't find any. Maybe Karate will help"
Miguel smiled and nodded "yes! Please join! You should join. My sensei is a little eh-"
Maddie stopped walking "a little eh?"
Miguel stopped too "he yells a lot and he's very um- it's like he got stuck in a time machine and got stuck in the '80s"
Maddie gave him a weird look "well I guess I can handle that. I want to learn how to kick ass you know asshole asses" she playfully punched him lightly in the shoulder.
"If you don't mind me asking, why? Do you get bullied?"
She sighed and kept walking Miguel following her actions "well I don't but my twin brother does. I don't want him getting hurt. So if I have to sacrifice myself and learn karate to help him defend himself then yes I will"
He nodded understanding "well you're a great sister. He can join too!"
"That's a great idea too! I will talk to him about it"

Maddie walked to the cafeteria and sat down at her table, next to Demetri greeting her two best friends "hey guys what's up?"
"Not much...just tired," Eli said in a low voice.
"Did you guys went to sleep late last night?"
"Not that late" Demetri answered for him.
She nodded and waited for Miguel to get here but then she remembered what she told Liv and Alice. By the end of the week, she needed to tell Demetri how she felt.
She got lost in thought that she didn't notice Miguel standing in front of her.
"Is it cool if I sit here?"
That voice made Maddie snapped back to reality. She smiled "Miguel!"
"Oh hi Maddie"
"Sorry, table's really blowing up right now. I can put you on the waitlist, but it's probably next semester at the earliest" Demetri said sarcastically.
