A week flew by and Maddie wasn't getting any better. She woke up, got dressed, and drove to the hospital to visit Miguel.
She got the two weeks suspension so she couldn't go to school.
After the fight, she had to be taken to the hospital because she had some injuries. So the first week, she couldn't drive herself so her mom drove her.
But a week later she was now better so her mom let her drive.
She walked to the hospital greeting Carmen "sweetie, you're back. So happy to see you"
Maddie nodded and gave her a small smile "yeah Carmen- again thank you for letting me come here"
She smiled and shook her head "no sweetie I love that you care about Miggy. Hopefully, he will wake up soon"
Maddie nodded "yeah I miss him"
"Me too sweetheart me too. Now go on. Miggy will be happy to hear you"
Maddie nodded and walked to his room. Miguel was laying there on his bed. Unconscious.
Maddie wanted to run and hug him tell him she missed him very much but she couldn't hug him.
She had the urge to cry but she stopped herself. She didn't want Miguel hearing her cry.
"Hey, Mickey...tomorrow's the first day of school. I don't want to go- I prefer to be here with you but my mom is forcing me to go"
Silence.
Maddie sighed "yeah I know right but my friends miss me so I have to go but I promise I will come after school with company if you want"
"Or I don't know... I haven't talked to Demetri- not since it happened. I have been avoiding his calls and messages..."
Maddie smiled sadly "I know what you would say- and I know but I just don't think I'm ready to go tomorrow..."
"I miss you, Miguel. I miss you so fucking much. Come back to us. I love you, Miguel. I need my best friend back." She sobbed.

Maddie drove home and walked to her room not noticing someone was sitting on her bed.
She left her bag on her bedside table and jumped noticing Demetri sitting on her bed.
"Holy shit Demetri! You scared the shit out of me" she said after jumping a little.
Demetri snorted "I scared you? Seriously? You've been ignoring me for two weeks- TWO WEEKS! I understand you needed your time I respect that but a simple 'im fine' would've been great"
"Look I'm sorry I know I should've answered your text and I'm sorry I worried you. I just didn't know what to say" Maddie said with her voice breaking a little.
Demetri felt bad for snapping at her. He walked closer to her and hugged her.
Maddie burst out crying and hugged him back "I'm so sorry dem"
Demetri sighed "no no it's okay don't worry...I'm sorry for snapping at you"
She looked up at him and stare into his eyes. Oh, those beautiful eyes she loved.
Demetri's breathe hitched. He started leaning in but before their lips could touch the front door opened.
"Someone home?"
Hawk.
"Shit! You need to hide! Come on hide in my closet" she whisper-yelled.
"What?! Why?" He asked confused.
"'What?! Why?' Are you mad? If my brother sees you here he might lose his shit"
Demetri opened his mouth then closed it "you're right"
He ran to the closet and closed the door right when Hawk opened her bedroom door.
"Jesus Hawk! You scared me!"
"I'm sorry I didn't know you were home- what are you doing?" He asked confused.
"Me? Nothing- wait I don't have to explain anything to you. I don't know you. In fact, why do you care?" she said trying to act normal.
Hawk nodded slowly before sadly looking down at his shoes "all right then I'll be going..."
He left closing her door. She waited a few minutes till she heard the front door close.
She sighed "you can get out now"
Demetri got out "you don't have to be so harsh you know"
"Seriously, dem? He's turning into a grade-A asshole am I supposed to applaud him for that? I love my brother but that thing is not him"
Demetri nodded "yeah I know I'm sorry Maddie...have you tried talking to him?"
Maddie nodded "yeah multiple times actually. I get exactly nowhere... you know it's so depressing...we were really close and now we are nothing"
he looked down sad agreeing with her. his best friend was lost and didn't know how to go back or stop being that monster.
before anyone could speak Maddie's phone started ringing. she ran to her bed and answer it "hello?"
"Maddie, hon?"
"oh my hi carmen is everything okay? Is Miguel okay?" She asked with worried written all over her face.
"YES, HE WOKE UP! Come here he would love to see you!"
"OH MY GOD, I WILL BE RIGHT THERE IN A FEW MINUTES AH! I'm so happy! Thank you for letting me know, Carmen"
"Of course, Mija. Now hurry up we will be waiting for you!"
"Yeah! Thank you! Okay bye!"
She ended the call and hugged Demetri who was sitting in her bed.
He fell backward which made her fall on top of him.
"Miguel woke up! Holy shit!" She yelled.
Demetri started screaming with excitement. "We should go!"
She nodded but noticed in the position they were in "I guess I really fell for yah, huh?"
Demetri blushed "oh my"
"Awe dem you're so adorable when you blush"
"You are just making me blush more"
Maddie rolled her eyes playfully "come on, don Juan. Let's go"
She was about to get up but Demetri pulled her down smashing his lips against hers.
She was surprised but she kissed back closing her eyes. She missed his lips very much.
His arms were around her waist pulling her closer but since she was on top she could feel something hard against her thigh.
She pulled away "as much as I love this come on let's go I really want to see Miguel. Come on babe just shake it off"
