Back downstairs, my mom is watching the news, with tears in her eyes, and I know that she's going to cry. I walk up to her and hug her, and the tears come out of her like a waterfall. None of the words that come out of her mouth are perfectly clear, but I nod and hold her, so she knows I'm there for her. Once I finally am released from her embrace, I go into the kitchen and grab the box of kleenex to give her.
"Momma?"
"Ye-yeah honey?"
"I love you!"
"I love you too!"
I go into the kitchen for a snack and hear a knock on the door. Walking up to the door, I look through the peephole to see two men in black suits. I recognize them as the men that were investigating the presentation-gone-wrong and my heart nearly stops mid beat. I gulp and tell my mom someone is at the door. I feel a tug at the back of my mind and a memory comes into view. Some agents stole me from my mother to put me in a home with people I didn't know and that flashback makes me more uncomfortable than I already am. She gets up and walks to the door. As soon as she sees who it is, her mood drops by a million and you can see it written all over her face, I was going to be taken from another family. I quickly rush up stairs before anyone can so much as blink at me (literally). I am sobbing by the time I am inside my egg chair. Akira activates as soon as I sit down.
"Master Alina, what is wrong?"
"I have to be taken away again! Why? I haven't done anything to anyone! What am I supposed to do? Everyone is being taken away from me!" I say sobbing into my stuffed animal Lilly.
"Master Alina, I am coming with you, right?"
"Y-yes."
"Well then you aren't losing everyone, you still have me!"
"Thank you Akira, you are the best friend I have ever had." Thinking quickly, I come up with a solution to the problem. I'll just run away from all of it!
"Akira! I know what to do! I'll just run with you and all my money! We'll go and live under the radar."
"Master Alina, I don't think this a good idea..."
"Come on, we can't just go from house to house! We have to leave!" I start to hear my mom calling my name and my heart moves into my throat.
"Fine, I'll pack up."
With that, she collapses into a phone, and I put her in my pocket. I hear multiple footsteps and my stomach starts to churn. I use my speed to grab my money out of my safe, grab some clothes, stuff them in a bag, and leave through the window. I fly through the air, as high up as I can. Stopping to catch my breath, I put my jacket on and fly down behind a Target Superstore. Coming out from behind it, I put my hood up, and walk right in.
"Welcome to Target, can I help you with anything?"
"Umm, no thank you."
"Well, if you have any questions let me know!" she says smiling the whole time. I have no time to talk, I need to get some hair dye, get new clothes and I need black makeup. Frantically, I walk and run through the aisles. I also grab some black nail polish with the rest of the stuff. I then decide to grab some sewing supplies and studs while I'm at it. Checking out, I put the stuff in my backpack. As I'm walking out, 7 black cars enter the parking lot near the store next to Target. They are all wearing the same suits, sunglasses (even though it's cloudy out) and blank faces.
"Crap! How am I supposed to get out of this!"
I walk at the same pace as everyone else and they are all staring at me. I gulp and continue on my way, but their eyes never move off of me. Gulping as they start to walk towards me, I panic and shout, "Stop!"
I quickly run as fast as a supersonic aircraft into my old house, grab a duffle bag and put blankets along with as many of my belongings as I possibly can and as much food as I can get into the bag.
Gasping for air, I sit on my bed terrified.
"What is happening to me!"
I walk back out and see my car, that obviously I am not allowed to drive, and immediately think of taking that to drive. On second thought, they'd be able to spot me very easily in a bright green camaro, so I decide to steal a car instead. Jumping into the air, I float above the house, to get a good look at the area. But then again, I've seen enough movies to know, they can track you by what car you steal.
