After waking up to a new day, getting every screwdriver and electronic, and messing with it all, I am able to make a huge control panel, several cameras to put in different places in the house, that way we can see if someone comes into the house, and track where they go. The control panel is in the floor below the basement, and is controlled by Akira. Also in the control room, there is a secret passageway that Sierra told me about, that actually leads into a town a few miles from here.
"So were you born with them, or did you get in an accident or what?"
"With what?"
"Your powers!"
"Oh, an accident, it's actually all over youtube."
"Really, wow, I haven't been on there in 2 days, and this is what happens, jeez!"
As she watches the video, I can just see the awe in her face, like a child at the circus. Speaking of the circus, I still need to make the superhero costume!
"Hey Sierra, do you want to be a superhero? I was wondering, how cool would it be if we could be superheroes, and save people from other people, and fight bad guys and stuff like that!"
"What is a superhero?"
"They are special people with superpowers that use their powers for the good of the world! Kinda like the people on TV shows that rescue people, firefighters and police officers and stuff!"
"We'd be so cool!"
"Ok, but wouldn't we have to be able to control our powers?"
"Yeah, I didn't really think that far, but I mean we could use the woods! There is like no one that goes in there, we would have enough space and enough privacy."
"Well then what are we waiting for, let's go practice!"
I quickly grab a couple grocery bags of fruit snacks (I really love fruit snacks), and go outside with her.
First thing I think of is asking her if she can make the earth move, and after a few minutes of training, she did. Next was seeing if she could make a certain area move, and she kinda got frustrated on that one.
"WHY CAN'T I DO THIS!!! I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS!!!!", she yelled, and the ground started to tremble harder than the last time.
She lifted her arms up, and the ground lifted with them. She then freaked out and quickly put them down, causing her to fall through the air, so I quickly caught her, and settled her down.
"Well now we know you can move the earth really well", I say anxiously, afraid she'll have another fit.
"Yeah, but I can't control it! Why am I so bad at this?"
"You're not bad at it, it will just take time to control. Here, Let me try something."
I walk up to a tree in front of us, and punch it with all my might and it snaps like a twig, and crashes into another, causing the trees to do dominoes all the way through the entire length of the woods. Then I walk up the tree, and jump off of it and fly to the ground. After that I try something I've never done before, I put the tree back where it was before and heal it.
"That is all stuff I don't really need help with controlling, but the speed I do need to work on."
After another 10 minutes of trying to get her powers under control, we stop to take a break and fruit snacks, and here a rummaging in the brush to our right. Looking closely at the rustling leaves, a small tuft of brown fur appears from the top. I walk closer to the fluff, and the bush grows a few more inches taller. I look back at Sierra, and she shrugs at my questioning expression. I turn my back to her to walk into the bush, when a form takes shape right before my eyes. A girl around my age appears, wearing a pair of dirty sneakers, ripped and bloody jeans and a sleeveless shirt probably made of cotton. Holes ranging from golf ball to microscopic in size cover the lower half of that shirt. She has light brown hair, light brown eyes, and perfectly white teeth that nearly shine in the shadiness of the forest. She looks like a mess with her hair tousled, slightly tanned skin splattered with mud and scratched up. The only thing that isn't a mess is her smile, a warm smile that makes you want to smile as well.
"Uhh, hello?"
"Hiii...", we both stand there awkwardly until Sierra walks up to the girl to greet her.
"Hello, my name is Sierra, what's your name?"
"Hi uh, Sierra, my name is Arktivice. I was wondering if you girls, would let me share some of your food?"
"Of course! How'd you get here?", I ask, confused on how with us being in the middle of nowhere, she found us.
"I kinda had this gut feeling to go south, and followed it, and ended up here I guess, I've only been on the road coming here for 2 days, but entered the area a month ago, so I followed it here."
"How? When did it start?"
"Probably around 9-9:30, why?" I can feel the warmth drain from my face, and look back at Sierra.
"That's exactly the time I started to change.", I say to myself aloud, as I think about what this means. This is all making too much sense, but at the same time it's all happening too fast, now not only am I the most powerful 'superhero' I know so far.
"What changed?" Sierra asks, looking a little frightened.
"We should go in, before more people like us arrive, and I'll explain inside."
