It's a Family Business

Chapter 17

Today was the day, the clan leaders and their seconds were gathering to the Karasuno manor for an important meeting. All of the close allies of Karasuno were attending. Nekoma, Fukurōdani, Aoba Johsai, Date Tech, and Shiratorizawa arrived. They entered the manor and went to a  conference room. They sat down at a large, round discussion table with itineraries in front of them. Water, snacks, and notepads were also on the table.

"You must wonder why I've gathered you all here on such short notice." Ukai said finally starting the meeting. He sat down next to Daichi.

The leaders all nodded their heads yes.

"We all know Daichi is taking my position soon, and I've been working diligently to secure clan contracts with this transfer of power.... The issue at hand today is this. Y/n is getting married..."

"Huh?" A few men vocalized out of confusion, but Ukai went on.

"With the approval of the other clans my daughter will marry into the Fukurōdani clan to Bokuto and Akaashi. This is to build strength between Karasuno and them." Ukai finished as Bokuto held his head high with pride.

"I object." Oikawa stood up and slammed his hands on the table. The other leaders and their seconds glared at his disrespect. Bokuto was about to get up and fight Oikawa, but Akaashi pinched his arm to get him to stop acting like a child.

"Oikawa sit down you're making a fool of our clan." Iwaizumi his second said with his arms crossed. Oikawa huffed and sat back down.

"Please Ukai continue with the details." Kuroo said.

Your dad went on to explain the contract in full detail. Even after all of that Oikawa still wasn't convinced.

"This is unfair." He said.

"How is that?" Daichi said slightly annoyed.

"Weather this marriage is approved is based on a vote and it's biased towards it. A 'yes' vote from Nekoma because Kuroo and Bokuto are best friends. Another one from Date Tech because they are close allies with you, Karasuno. Don't get me started on Ushijima here who will vote 'yes' to spite me." Oikawa argued. Bokuto and Akaashi didn't say any objections because they knew he was right.

"Oikawa this marriage idea was never meant to spite you or anyone else and the other clans are free to vote how they feel." Ukai sighed. "One of the main reason I made this suggestion for y/n to marry Bokuto and Akaashi is because she already has a connection with them. It would make no sense for her to marry someone like Aone because she doesn't know him well. Bokuto and Akaashi have agreed with the marriage process and this is the next step... Clan Approval."

Their was a small pause of silence before Kuroo cleared his throat.

"You have Nekoma's approval not because Bokuto is my friend. But because Karasuno and Nekoma have a strong clan bond as it is and we have no need for a contract like this." Kuroo said side eyeing Oikawa and Kenma nodded.

"I second that. Ukai you have Date Tech's approval." Futakuchi said.

"We'd be happy to sign as well. Shiratorizawa gives their approval as well."

Oikawa looked at Iwaizumi who gave him a look. He leaned close to whisper something in Oikawa's ear.

"Toru you are outmatched here. You don't want to be difficult with your allies do you?" Oikawa sighed at Iwa's words.

"Fine! You have Aoba Johsai's approval to continue." Oikawa said and the tense air began to disappear.

"In that case I'll go get y/n." Ukai stood up and walked out of the office. To his surprised you were right outside the door, waiting for the moment he needed you. You weren't eavesdropping like your father thought instead you were sitting on the couch outside of the door.

"Come it's time." Your dad said and you smiled. He took you into the room.

"Good afternoon gentlemen." You said respectfully as you entered the conference room. You lit up the room as you walked in.

"Good afternoon y/n." The men greeted you. You looked over at Bokuto and Akaashi who were holding in their excitement. You saw Kenma sitting with Kuroo, he looked bored and would rather be playing games then be here. He locked eyes with you and gave a small wave.

"Y/n sit down, you need to be a witness of the clan leaders signing the contract and vise versa." Your father said before he sat you in his chair and stood behind you.

One by one each clan signed their approval for the marriage. Then it was time for you, Kōtarō, and Akaashi to sign. It was done, you looked at your father for what was next to happen.

"Now that this is over with the wedding will be held in three months, it will be announced at the next Gala. Dismissed." Ukai said. Everyone nodded their heads before leaving the room. This left you, your father, and your fiancés in the table, still sitting down. You sat for a moment before a realization hit you.

"Did you say three months?" You screamed at your father.
