🌺 Chapter 215 - 216 🌺

Ye Zhen sent Meng Jie off all the way to her car. When they got there, they saw a silvery white sports car in front of Meng Jie’s car. When the driver of the silvery white car saw Meng Jie, he lowered the window, revealing a face that Ye Zhen wasn’t familiar with.

Meng Jie halted. She turned around and smiled at Ye Zhen. “Mrs. Lu, you can go back first. I’ll notify you as soon as possible if there’s any news from Ning Yang.”

Ye Zhen looked at the man in the sports car. He was staring at Meng Jie while trying his utmost to control himself. She understood that Meng Jie wouldn’t want any outsiders around in this scenario.

She glanced at You Jing. “Okay, I’ll leave first then. Take care.”

She gave Meng Jie a meaningful look before turning around and leaving.

You Jing lazily got out of the car and stood by it. There was restrained anger in his voice as he said, “Mrs. Lu, I’ll offer you a word of advice. Outsiders shouldn’t meddle in the entertainment industry. Beware that you’ll lose all of your capital!”

Ye Zhen didn’t care about his blatant threat.  Not showing any weakness, she turned around to look at You Jing. “Mr. You, I’ll give you a piece of advice too then. Don’t go too far in bullying others. Otherwise, one careless move and the game will be lost and you’ll be left with nothing.”

You Jing, this jack*ss, had nothing in his head. She had nothing to fear from this person. He was a love-sick fool that did nothing except eating, drinking, and having fun.

“Miss Meng, should I send someone to escort you back?” Ye Zhen felt worried about leaving Meng Jie alone with You Jing. Who knows if he would do something to her.

Meng Jie persevered with shaking her head. “Thank you for your kind intentions. It’s okay. I can settle this myself. You can go back.”

Ye Zhen warningly looked at You Jing. She didn’t insist any further and quietly said, “Call me if anything happens.”

Meng Jie nodded.

Meng Jie took out her car key after Ye Zhen left, but You Jing blocked her from getting to her car door. “I heard you signed a contract with Lu Corporation?”

Because of her upbringing, Meng Jie had never gotten into a heated argument or lost her calm with others. Even in front of You Jing, she kept her pleasant countenance.

“It was signed today. Anything else?” Meng Jie raised her head and looked him in the eye.

Looking someone in the eye when talking was the most basic requirement for showing respect. This was a rule that Meng Jie had followed since she was young.

Meng Jie was so at ease with talking to him that You Jing got nervous.

Meng Jie was like a flower on a branch that was so high up that he couldn’t pick. That flower bloomed beautiful with lovely tender leaves underneath the sunlight. He stood crouching down underneath the tree, guarding it from others. He didn’t dare to pluck the flower himself and wouldn’t let others get close to it.  He was full of possessiveness, but he also understood that his feet were muddy. Dejected, he wasn’t worthy of that flower.

Therefore, You Jing was always insecure in front of Meng Jie.

Other people said that he had no ability, only money, that his family’s fortune would be ruined by him sooner or later, and that he would anger his grandfather to death one day.

How could You Jing not know about this idle gossip? However, he couldn’t refute any of it. Afterall, this was the truth. Other than the wealth accumulated by his ancestors, he had nothing.
