Happy May the Fourth!
To celebrate, I've posted the first two chapters of my new Kylo Ren fanfiction, At Your Darkest, and here's a teaser...
"Nobody needs to get hurt," Kittra said softly. She moved herself in front of Danni, shielding her from this one blaster even though they were surrounded by armed Resistance members.
The rebel laughed. "That's funny because all she—" he jabbed his blaster in Lexa's direction— "does is hurt people."
The Valguard leader met the rebel's eyes. Anger radiated from him... and blame. Contempt. "I hurt someone you loved," Lexa realized.
The rebel blinked rapidly, tears threatening spill down his red cheeks. "My name is Maro Shan. You killed my wife. Do you even know her name?"
This man possessed the guts of someone who had nothing left to lose, but Lexa couldn't lie. She didn't enjoy dwelling on memories like that, didn't let herself feel remorse for lives she took. "No. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize!" Maro shouted. "Don't apologize to me, because you aren't sorry. You hurt and you kill and you don't look back, Lexa Val. I know who you are and what you do, and I know exactly how to make you hurt."
"You don't know shit," Lexa spat, her shoulders rising with each heavy breath. She clenched her teeth and dug her fingernails into her palms, ready to fight. "You. Don't. Know. Me."
"Oh, yeah?" Maro turned his pistol on Kittra and pulled the trigger.
