Kylo Ren sleepily reached one arm to pull his wife to his chest, but you were not in bed. He opened his eyes and let them adjust to the darkness before scanning your shared room. You weren't there. In fact, he knew exactly where you's be. Kylo swung the blankets to the end of the bed, placing his bare feet on the floor. He stood slowly and tiptoed to the adjoining room. Opening the sliding door, Kylo laid eyes on his beautiful wife.

You were standing over the crib in your rose pink night gown. The lace edging dripped delicately down your arms and thighs, and your hair, for the first time in forever, hung loosely around your shoulders in elegant waves. You would have looked so peaceful, had it not been for the sobbing child in your arms.

"Shh, my little one, Mommy is right here. There is no need to cry," you cooed gently, pressing your lips to Kohen's forehead. He only cried louder in protest. You tried to comfort him with some humming, but it didn't seem to work.

Kylo stepped closer to his wife. "May I?" He raised his eyebrows as you turned around, revealing the dark circles under your eyes. "Go get some sleep."

You looked relieved to see his handsome face and handed him Kohen. The little boy reached back for his mommy, wrapping his little tiny fingers around a lock of your hair. He let out a scream and pulled.

"Kohen, Mommy needs sleep," Kylo whispered into his child's ear, adoring the feeling of the feathery black tufts of hair against his face.

Kohen seemed to understand, releasing the grip he had on you. He made a soft gurgle at you and touched your face. Kylo's heart swelled with joy as you leaned into his touch. You pressed a quick kiss to both of their cheeks before heading off to bed.

Kylo smiled as his son turned in his arms to face him. "You make her so happy, Kohen, and she would go to the ends of the Universe and back for you. We both would. But, you need to give your mother a break. She's the best thing in this world, Kohen." The little boy merely stared over his shoulder. "You and her, I love you both more than anything."

His son seemed to coo in agreement and reached out over his shoulder. "Momma." Kylo turned to look.

You were leaning against the doorway with a hand over your mouth and tears in your eyes. You darted over to your son who had just said his first word. "Kohen!"

Kylo let you take your son from his arms, wrapping them around both of you, instead.
