Anthea ran happily towards her family and tackled her three boys with a tight hug. Her husband, and her twins. The young boys cried as they hugged their mother tightly.
"Mama! You scared us!" They cried in unison.
"I'm sorry my dear boys, I promise I won't scare you like that ever again." She assured them, giving both of their heads a gentle peck.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect mama, sons, I'll do better next time. I will protect all three of you with my life." Diluc told both of them.
Xiao watched from a distance as the entire family turned themselves into a sobbing mess. Not until he was pulled into the group hug as well.
"You're family too, Xiao.. " Diluc told him with a smile forming on his face.
Xiao's eyes glimmered. It was the first time someone else called him a family other than his mother. Closing his eyes, he gave in and hug the family back. "I'm home.. " He whispered inaudibly.
He was home.
—
That evening, after cleaning the mess their sons made at the dinner table, Diluc and Anthea laid on their bed, feeling each other's warmth in peace.
"Thank you for staying by my side, Thea.. " Diluc whispered on her wife's ear, reminiscing the day she vowed that she'll stay by his side for the rest of her life. "I'll make you the happiest woman alive."
"I already am, Diluc. Because of you.."
Dilcu caressed Anthea's skin,
Trailing soft kisses on her shoulders. "I wish I could stay for the rest of your life. " He muttered, burrying his face on her shoulders. That's when Anthea realized, that Diluc, and even their sons' souls would eventually leave their mortal body, while she will remain youthful for another long period of time. For she was made an Adepti. But she didn't want to worry about that now. They still have more time.
"Even if your body can't, your love will remain in my heart forever." She whispered to him, kissing the back of his hand.
"When I pass, I want you to look for someone to love again. As long as you're here, and I'm not, you're allowed to fall inlove with someone else. But please promise me, that once you reach the other side as well, you'll come back to me.. "
"I will always come back to you, Diluc. It's always you.. " She hummed. "But right now, we still have a lot of things to do. Let's pave a way for our Children to have a brighter future and a brighter world.. "
"That's right.. We'll fight for their happiness together.. "
"And for ours." Anthea said.
"And for ours." Diluc repeated.
From that day forward, Diluc and Anthea fought so hard for their Children's future. Diluc kept fighting crimes behind the shadow of the night, and Anthea continued to guard the woods and all the creatures tjat lurk between. Along that, the winery and the botique prospered.
They watched their sons grow into fine young men. Not so long after, they even outgrew Xiao in strength and height. They became fine gentlemen who inherited the wisdom and the charisma of their fathers. They were inseparable until they had go on separate ways. For Zoran inherited the winery in monstadt, and Yizhong inherited the branch in Liyue.
Every weekend, they would go home in the manor, along with their big brither Xiao to have dinner with the entire family.
Diluc and Anthea happily watched their sons grow and make their own family. Both made them proud in their ways.
Every moment around them was fulfilling to Anthea until the day all her loved ones had to leave because they were still mortals.
And then generations passed, and generations, and generations.
She lived in a small house in the woods between Monstadt and Liyue so she could protect both. The love of her husband left in her heart became her strength to protect Teyvat with her powers.
If it hadn't been for Xiao and the other Adepti, she would have felt all alone. Even Ossial visited her in his human form. Still, most of her days were spent all by herself as Xiao and the others had matters to attend too.
One day, when she was brewing fruit tea for her and the seelies visiting her house often, The Dihua flute sounded once again.
When she turned around, she dropped the tea and broke down into happy tears. "You really returned.. " She breathed.
His beautiful gaze, his soft flowing hair, his perfect build, and the soft features on his face, all of it were as perfect as she remembered.
He slowly walked towards her as he played the flute. Flower petals fell from above as if the gods of celestia approved of their encounter.
When he reached her, the flute dispersed in the wind, and he held her hands with his. "Did you wait long?"
"I've always been waiting.. " She whispered, smiling through the tears.
"How did you return?" She asked him, trailing her fingers on his face, as if to feel if he was indeed real.
"Don't worry, love, I'm real. I told you I'd destroy Celestia if they don't allow me to return, right?" He chuckled. "Oh.. But there's still something that I must do.. " He muttered.
"What is it?" She asked, worried that he might leave her once again.
"This. " He said, kneeling down on one knee, opening a jade box containing a silver ring with gems at the center mimicking a glaze lily.
"Will you make me the happiest man in Teyvat, Azalea?"
As tears filled her vision, she replied, "Yes.. "
It was the beginning of another chance.
The Nymph of Teyvat is destined to assist everyone to find their happiness...
Then eventually find hers.
End.
