I think we are only a few more chapters until the end. That will be a day... Oh well, for now, On With the Story!

I didn't have any belongings to pack but I still needed a horse. I missed Tao and I was certain I would never see him again. It was worse than watching him leave the entrance to Moria. It was evening when I walked to the stables where there were many horses available. I took a bay mare with a star on her head. She was warm and friendly but she wasn't the same as Tao. I rode her through the city until I got to the top where the rest of the companies horses were kept. I named the mare Raindrop. I knew she would probably die along with me so the name just depressed me. Most of the company were asleep but I couldn't. There were too many thoughts pounding on my head. I walked out onto a stone balcony and looked at the starlit plains. The smoking ruins of Osgiliath stood pitifully reflecting my mood. Gandalf stood next to me and for a long time, neither of us said anything.
"Legolas was right," I said finally. "We do have to savor our chances." He nodded.
"We do have a rather good advantage on our side."
"What's that?"
"You." He answered as if it was obvious. "Your betrayal will make your father give you his full attention. That, and..." He paused. "You are the most powerful being in middle earth at the moment."
"What? I'm just an elf." I said taken aback.
"Your father is one of the Maiar. Your mother and grandmother are the most powerful elves of the ages."
"I have no powers." He chuckled.
"You do have Gifts." He corrected.
"What are they?" I said a little demanding. He thought for a moment before saying:
"What emotions do you feel the most powerful." I frowned.

"Anger, I guess. Not a very nice one." I added.

"And what if said anger was pointed at your father." He said.
"I've always been too frightened to try directly," I answered honestly.
"Exactly! You mask your gifts in layers of fear."

"Say something that will make me angry!" I demanded desperately wanting to see what I could do.
"You don't have to feel angry. Just harness the feeling of being angry." I thought about it for a while until I understood.
"I know what you mean now," I announced.
"Now focus."
"On what?" Gandalf thought for a moment.

"Focus on the stillness of the air." I did. It felt soft and comforting. "Now add the feeling you feel when angry." I did. Suddenly the air was not so soft. Heavy winds began to fly around the city. The stronger I felt, the harder the winds were. I imagined them flying around me like a whirlwind and watched as they whipped around me. The noise was unbelievable! Whistling and growling at the same time. I calmed my thoughts and imagined the same peaceful night air as before. The winds dissipated around my body as an enormous grin spread across my face.

Gandalf stood smiling merrily.

"I felt so powerful!" I told him. "So free but in control." I rambled on. Gandalf laughed.
There was a merry pause between us until a serious thought entered my head.
"I have to attack Sauron?" I asked.
"Not directly." Answered the wizard. "But I assume you would like to use this newfound power to oppose him?"
"Yes." I breathed
"Well then, does that answer your question." I nodded slowly. "I wonder if I have inherited any other powers" Gandalf laughed.
"Probably yes."

"Like what."

"Elinor, next to you I am almost powerless. I don't know how to manipulate your gifts at all. In fact, I doubt any on middle earth would know. You are not something they have ever seen before. You are almost like a new race. Only you can truly discover yourself." He said gently.
"Why are you only telling me this now?"
"Would you have believed it?"
"Maybe."
"On top of everything else you had to take in?"
"Probably not," I said defeated. He chuckled.
"Thank you for this," I said gratefully.
"My dear, you have these abilities from an unfortunate past." He said calmly. I smiled.
"You should rest up." He advised.
"I don't think I can," I said.
"Well, you might not need some rest but I do. Goodnight." He said merrily as he walked out.

The moon was high but the city was asleep. I skipped through the plains of Pellenor feeling alive. The river sat peacefully before I placed a hand over it. The wind picked it up and swirled around. Gandalf's words made my head spin:
"You are like a new race. Only you can truly discover yourself."

I inhaled and jumped. I flew over the river and landed with a thud. I had jumped an inhuman distance but it wasn't my jump that had got me over the river. It was the winds. I jumped back over the river to confirm my thoughts which proved correct. I ran to Osgiliath and walked to a burning building. I felt the heat as I walked into it but I foolishly stood there. I reached out to flame and went to touch it. I expected to burn my fingers but they didn't burn. Fire resilience: of course! All of these years in forever burning Mordor. I ran back to Minas Tirith with long strides which lasted a few seconds each.

It was long past midnight when I walked into the house of the healing. Eowyn was awake looking out the window. I knocked and she beckoned for me to enter.
"Was that you out there?" She said in awe.
"Yes, it was," I said. Not wanting to sound vain I asked

"How's your arm?"
"It's better than it was. I don't have your fast healing though."
"Yeah, and my reward is I get to back to battle," I said.
She smiled weakly.
"Eomer was here just a minute ago." She told me. "I know you are with Legolas but," I felt myself blush. "He really likes you."
"Good to know," I said a little rudely. "Have you gotten over your obsession with Aragorn?" This time she blushed.
"I have actually." She said a little curtly.
"Thank the Valar!" I said sarcastically.
"Do you remember rescuing the steward's son?"
"Faramir?" She turned scarlet.
"Yes..." She said timidly.
"Good on you," I said glad she didn't keep clinging to Aragorn. Especially if Arwen showed up.

We talked like old friends until the dawn broke. I hugged her close like a sister.
"Will I see you again?" She asked timidly.
"I can't make any promises, except one."

"What is that?"
"I'll try very hard to not die." She smiled a little as a horn sounded.
"Do you have a sword?" She asked timidly. When I realized what she had said I realized I didn't. I shook my head. She ran out of the room and handed me her father's sword.
"I can't take this."
"Please, I insist."
"Are you sure? This sword killed the Witch King."
"Do you want it?"
"Yes..."

"Here you are then. She said leaving it in my hands. "For your promise." I smiled and pulled her in for one last hug.
"I've got to go. Goodbye." I told her.
"Goodbye, Elinor." She whispered back as I left the room.
