Mathias
There was nothing more exciting than pursuing a lovely woman!
Women were like tender flowers, whose petals would wilt at the first improper touch. They needed to be cared for. They needed to be touched lovingly. I may have been a large, muscular man, but I was also a man of tremendous character.
A woman as lovely as Kate? She should be worshipped! She should be treated like a queen! The world should get on their knees and thank her for merely existing!
I knew this, for I was often a wise man. So I planned our date carefully.
The night would begin with me picking her up at the penthouse. I would compliment her clothing, no matter what she wore. Compliments were life's nourishment! We would then take a taxi to PHD Downtown, one of the most exclusive nightclubs in the city. I would have no trouble procuring admittance, for the owner was a former client of mine.
(As a man of class, I have known for a long time that it is not what you know in life, but who you know. Fortunately I knew a great many people!)
This would be our first stop of the evening because I wanted to show Kate that I could dance. My father won my mother's heart in this way, and he had impressed upon me the importance of dancing into a woman's heart!
Once we were exhausted and hungry, we would walk two blocks to Omai, my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Their pho noodles taste like the sun! The owner was also a former client of mine, and he would treat us like royalty.
It was my hope that this would impress Kate greatly.
Finally, if Kate was still enjoying my company, we would get after-dinner drinks at Bathtub Gin, a quiet lounge for members of New York's elite. This would allow us to laugh, and mingle, and talk about the world together!
The owner was not a former client of mine, but the bouncer was, and that was just as good!
I couldn't wait for the day to arrive. I was so excited on Saturday that I could barely even exercise.
(This is not true, of course. It is only a figure of speech. Exercise is life!)
I scanned my Nash Capital badge in the elevator and it soared to the upper floors. When the doors opened, I stepped into the penthouse feeling like a million Euros!
"Hallo?" I called into the huge room. "Is anyone home?"
The little ones came running around the corner like a stampede of oxen. They slammed into my legs, and I was tempted to pretend to fall onto my back and compliment them on how strong they were, but I was wearing nice clothing so I decided to refrain. I had torn the seam of many a pair of pants before, and this would not do tonight!
"UNKIE MAT!" Barry yelled. "What are you doing here?"
Kate came around the corner. Her jaw dropped when she saw me, and her face turned the color of a ghost. She was not dressed for a night on the town; she wore jeans and a T-shirt.
She has forgotten our date. Or perhaps she did not believe my invitation was serious. She had no intentions of going out with me. She thought I was joking.
I was greatly dismayed!
"Oh no, Mathias!" Kate said. "I meant to call you to reschedule our date. Braxton is out of town on a business trip, so I had to watch the twins this weekend."
I smacked my forehead. "I should have thought of this! I knew Brax was gone, but did not even consider how it would affect your schedule."
"Rain check?" she asked hopefully.
