Matt's lips glided effortlessly with mine. He pulled away and looked into my eyes and then down at my wrist. The blood was going to stain the concrete stair case. I didn't care. I pecked Matt's lips again and pulled a napkin out of my bag, applying pressure to the cuts.

When the cuts had stopped drying and I had gotten myself together, we started walking. Matt texted his friend Cameron and asked if we could crash at his place for the night but that it'd have to be super secretive. Cameron agreed.

I'd seen Cam around school. He was very popular however and I, well i am a wallflower.

When we got to Cameron's house we were snuck in through the back door. Cam set us up in the guest room with a home cooked meal and the tv.

I cuddled into Matt's side after eating and buried my face into his hoodie. I thought about what was going to happen from here, but I felt myself overthinking already. So I pushed the thoughts away and drifted slowly asleep.

We slept in, which gave Cam's parents time to leave for work. He replenished our food and water supply and gave me a charger to use for my dying iPhone. I thanked him and went to take a hot shower.

We had been on the run for 2 and a half weeks and there was more to come.

before I got into the shower, I realized the view from the window in the living room.

and I could've sworn I saw police lights.
